a friend of mine just said she's planning to do so. I know she's very tired and that her husband's going home late tonight - and I can't help but worry for her safety.
yes I'm probably overthinking it, yes she is an adult, yes she's probably done it before and I'm sure she'll be perfectly fine and merrySmile

But as soon as she said it I thought 'please don't fall asleep, please don't drown'Confused - because another friend's adult daughter died in the bath. she had an epileptic fit and drowned Sad and I know these two scenarios are completely different but I can't help it, alarm bells are ringing and I'm worried. because she was alone too.

So yay or nay on me BU about worrying.
Also is this something a lot of people do when on their own?

(btw I am not judging her at all and of course I didn't /wouldn't say anything)

You are behaving like a parent, she will be fine, leave her alone! I'm talking from experience!

Diamond White & Castaway was my drink of choice for ages. How I drank it is beyond me and I clearly had a much bigger capacity for alcohol then too.

You do actually still get Diamond White my wee local shop sells it

When my DP has a bath, she take with her a glass of cider, a cheap small carton of tesco white wine and "instructs" me to bring her a shot glass of Whisk(e)y & a rollie after a hour.

Had a discussion with dh the other week when I drank a glass of wine in the bath. He thought it was stupid and terribly dangerous, that I'd faint and drown or break the glass and suffer life changing injury. I told him he was being silly and he maintained that nobody else does this. I think he wbu and you are a bit too.

Poor Zing
Yab a teeny bit u.
But you are forgiven. Brew

Marynary · 23/04/2015 09:31

Surely if you fall asleep in the bath and go under the water you will just wake up? You would have to be extremely drunk rather than just sleepy to wake.

I have the wine is in a plastic cup rather than a glass one though.

Surely if you fall asleep in the bath and go under the water you will just wake up? You would have to be extremely drunk rather than just sleepy not to wake.

I fall asleep in the bath every time I have one, which is most evenings. One of my favourite things to do.

OTheHugeManatee · 23/04/2015 21:10

Drinking sherry at mid-afternoon in the bath is one of life's very greatest pleasures Grin

YABU and very anxious, OP, but I think enough people have told you that already.

ClashCityRocker · 23/04/2015 21:15

See, I don't get wine in the bath.

The temperature makes the wine tepid too quickly, the bubbles invariably end up in my glass and i don't have enough hands to hold wine and read my book so I have to put it on the side and then it falls off and smashes.

It's one of those that sounds nice in theory, but is rubbish in practice, a bit like breakfast in bed or democracy.

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/04/2015 21:18

I don't like baths or wine

squoosh · 23/04/2015 21:19

Vodka and tonic on the toilet instead?

ClashCityRocker · 23/04/2015 21:41

Sounds like my kind of party Grin
