I think good on you.

Re your last thread I think the woman who refused to cook is the normal one here but if it works for you then great. Grin personally i would poison the lazy gits.

GettingFiggyWithIt · 25/03/2015 00:04

I am now caught up. I think you are just lovely OP Star because I did not have time to read 40 pages I skim read but mainly yours. You take all the flak in good grace. You rise above being told it's a wind up, you are lying, it's not physically possible etc Your dh and you sound like you actually have a very caring and balanced relationship.
The team meal sounds lovely. You sound lovely. The other lass's text was funny if sent to her dh. If sent to you Shock Blush she may well be wincing. I personally would not want to cook for 20 but what? every 3 months, it is four times a year. Even I could batch cook chilli and I am pretty shite. Your curry looks delicious. I have short order cooked for 20 before, it is doable but reheating chilli easier. An ex of mine was a bloody brilliant cook...he could do this standing on his head.

GettingFiggyWithIt · 25/03/2015 00:07

And yes, he probably would have done that for me, had I been working nights. CurrentMrFiggy wouldn't but is useful in other departments.

justonemoretime2p · 25/03/2015 00:11

I don't know what's going on but I like OP

Arsenic · 25/03/2015 00:15

I can't see photos Confused

Pyjamasandwine · 25/03/2015 00:29

The pictures looked delicious btw.

Didactylos · 25/03/2015 00:29

today as an experiment I informed DH that hes expected to join the cooking rota for the night shifts I work (mostly female staff so we dont expect manly one pot meals, we want finnicking salads)
it took a while for him to get the concept that partners/husbands/wives were expected to provide universal meals for the whole team on a rota system (really? people agree to do this?)
his major reaction - 'what the hell has this got to do with me?' which on balance was slightly politer than new wife

I will confess its a piss take tomorrow but am quite enjoying watching his bemusement

Pyjamasandwine · 25/03/2015 00:31

figgy interesting references to love life there. Grin

Pyjamasandwine · 25/03/2015 00:32

Did Grin

FuckkityUp · 25/03/2015 00:36

I can't see the photos now either. I could earlier but now i can't, I wonder why.

There were photos of a delicious and hearty looking curry in two huge slow cookers.

WayfaringStranger · 25/03/2015 09:56

I love curry but I have a small house which is open plan downstairs and I hate the cooking smells permeating every part of my house. Even with doors closed and windows open, the whole place just stinks. :(

AlpacaPicnic · 25/03/2015 10:04

I'm not posting photos of my attempts at cooking this week - I've got a stinking cold (my third in six weeks) and can barely dress myself let alone whip up a mahoosive curry for loads of people. Respect to you op, that looks bloody yum, what time shall we all call round? I'll bring my own naan bread...

Unless anyone wants to see my tiny oven tray filled with Turkey dinosaurs and oven chips...?

Box5883284322679964228 · 25/03/2015 11:11

My DH would cook once a month for me and my 20 colleagues if I asked. We do lots for each other though

Didactylos · 25/03/2015 11:13

well, he worked out it was bullcrap before I told him Hmm
as he knows nightshift foods need to be carb based and salad doesnt cut it at all

shins · 25/03/2015 11:14

George Formby, I think you mean George Foreman? Grin

(tries to imagine George Formby juggling ukelele and slow cooker)

Box5883284322679964228 · 25/03/2015 11:18

Surely protein would be better then carb based meals

Box5883284322679964228 · 25/03/2015 11:19

MAybe you would have been more believable if you'd asked him to make up 30 deli type sandwiches Grin

Didactylos · 25/03/2015 11:21

ive tried taking lots of things in over the years I have done my shifts
and nothing is as good as buttered toast and tea when you are hitting the wall (between 4 and 6am)
