Some people on the other thread were implying that she had made it up ottilia - that she didn't actually bulk cook for her husband and his workmates.

KatieKaye · 24/03/2015 22:18

Looks lovely and I'm sure the men will enjoy it.
But flip, three hours is a long time.
Not that I'm surprised it took that long, or that you don't have space in your kitchen for both of the slow cookers.

OttiliaVonBCup · 24/03/2015 22:20

Oh ok.

KatieKaye · 24/03/2015 22:23

That is not a fair reflection of the thread, bumbley.
People were saying that it would take a lot of time to do and also that you would need a lot of space in your kitchen to do a meal for 20. Which OP has confirmed.
They also said that not everyone would have the time to do this, and that there was no guarantee that all of the wives who had orignally agreed to do catering shifts were still happy with the arrangement or indeed that they were doing the cooking for the men rather than the husbands actually taking responsibility for making their own meals.
And then of course there was the pointless attempts at derailment, but it came back on topic at the end.

OttiliaVonBCup · 24/03/2015 22:28

I don't think I've ever cooked for 20.
There's not enough cooking wine for that.

Looks nice!

The recipe below is from the 'dark side' and may get deleted. Must say its THE best slow cooker recipe my sister in law does.

bumbleymummy · 24/03/2015 22:31

Katie - note the use of the word some in my post.

Didn't derail at all Wink

bumbleymummy · 24/03/2015 22:32

I think I need to get a slow cooker...

butterfly2015 · 24/03/2015 22:38

I have no idea what this is about.

Coumarin · 24/03/2015 22:41

Oh god your house is going to stink for days. Confused

Quiero · 24/03/2015 22:42

You wouldn't believe it if we told you butterfly. It's that fucking bonkers.

bumbleymummy · 24/03/2015 22:43

Nowt wrong with the smell of curry :)

KatieKaye · 24/03/2015 22:43

I did note the use of "some" and merely decided to give a more accurate reflection of what else had been said on the thread, which included as the protests made about the repeated attempts at derailment. Luckily these were not successful, mainly because other posters saw them for what they were and refused to rise to the bait irrelevancies.

Nice to see you are still a smiley person though!

bumbleymummy · 24/03/2015 22:46

No intentional attempts at derailment made Katie. I shared a comparison that I thought was relevant to point out the flaws in some posters' opinions. Some people thought I was using the example to say something I was not and I tried to clarify it a few times.

Yes, still smiling :)

OttiliaVonBCup · 24/03/2015 22:50

Sorry I asked!
Grin

Pyjamasandwine · 24/03/2015 22:51

Does it get competitive though between the wives? Sounds like a midsomer murder plot to me.

butterfly2015 · 24/03/2015 22:54

Thanks for the link quiero.

Now, why is there a thread with a photo of a pot of curry ....I'm going to read the other one but I'd like a quick explanation or is this a "look how good I am at cooking" type thread. If I'd known I'd have taken a photo of the beef stew I made today.

bumbleymummy · 24/03/2015 22:56

Maybe we should just turn it into a thread where we all post photos of food we've cooked? Cake

OttiliaVonBCup · 24/03/2015 23:03

I just had the most beautiful pastry from Laduree.

You'll have to trust me on that though, I was to busy eating so no photos.

butterfly2015 · 24/03/2015 23:03

I can't. My dinner was so bloody amazing it's been scoffed.

Will a photo of a cup of coffee suffice?

Dp made it, we operate a Rota system.

KatieKaye · 24/03/2015 23:10

We had mince made in the slow cooker by my housemate yesterday; 'twas delicious. And very welcome to come home, to as I'd spent the morning in A&E with DM who had a fall at her nursing home. Crap start to the day, but a lovely te at the end of it. Not enough for 20 though she did take the remainder into work for her lunch today. Her workmates were quite envious but neither of us are inspired to cater for them.

SilverBirch2015 · 24/03/2015 23:22

Looks good piper

Before the previous thread was full I was going to post the following:

Oldraver · 24/03/2015 23:41

OP... You need to get yourself to the FB group 'Slow Coooked Wonders'...I think you would be at home with the loons people there

FuckkityUp · 24/03/2015 23:43

Piper. I'm late to your threads but I think you have a brilliant set up. Your curry looks lovely and I really don't think you did anything wrong sending the text. I'm glad that the rude text that you received wasn't actually meant for you.

I skim read the other thread, it's hilarious and terrible at the same time Confused I think some posters owe Piper an apology.

I'd join in your cooking arrangement if I (or my DH) joined your DHs work.
