Just that really. I think i might be in the wrong place.

• am a (happily) single mum
•have no grief with my ex
•live on the 7th floor of a council high rise so don't need to build a 6 foot fence or get bamboo
•earn £21k a year and have no chance of buying a house because a mortgage in this city is way out of my league
•no car so no parking issues
•can't afford a holiday
•have a distant, but friendly enough relationship with my MIL
•sent the ds's to a local state school
•never hired a tutor
•no guest room to decorate
•drink full sugar fizzy pop and don't eat enough fruit
•can't feed my family of 3 on £30 a week •have no weddings to attend this year

Should i just fuck of dear?

Ah, but you haven't even MENTIONED your full support of UKIP so YABU

WeirdCatLady · 22/03/2015 09:16

And your point is?

Hakluyt · 22/03/2015 09:16

Oh, you do have a place.... Everything is your fault! Grin

Mrscog · 22/03/2015 09:18

I think you should just stop comparing yourself materially to everyone and get suck in with discussions you can contribute to! Only about 20% of threads are relevant to me, but I don't go around thinking I should fuck off from here.

dragdownthemoon · 22/03/2015 09:19

I'm not sure I follow, do you think you are better or worse off than the majority of posters on here? :-/

MurielWoods · 22/03/2015 09:21

And you don't put 'lighthearted' in commas in the thread title Wink

I'd say you fit right in Grin

NoArmaniNoPunani · 22/03/2015 09:21

What's your point?

BadLad · 22/03/2015 09:25

•sent the ds's to a local state school

Have you ever sent either of your sons to school wearing a dress?

If so, you'll fit right in.

OrlandoWoolf · 22/03/2015 09:30

The DM probably hate you.

I'm sure you've got some issues you want to post about.

How many meals can you get out of a chicken?

The mortgage one is a good one to post.

AIBU to think I should be able to buy a house or a flat on £21K a year?

SomewhereIBelong · 22/03/2015 09:35

nooooooooooooooo - you should be drinking water....

your profligate spending on fizzy pop is grabbing food from your children's mouths - and if you did not buy it, who knows - in 200 years you may save up enough money for a deposit on a shed....

Moln · 22/03/2015 09:35

I feel let down, the thread title had me ready for someone highly amusingly different. This is all just so ordinary, just for that I'm going to have to go with YABU.

cleanmyhouse · 22/03/2015 09:47

ordinary? that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.

  1. i can get 2 meals out of a chicken.

i thought the lighthearted bit would be glaringly obvious. i was wrong. lesson learned.

where is fuckitbucket when i need her?

OP posts:
OrlandoWoolf · 22/03/2015 09:50

2 meals.

Sorry - you don't fit in. You should make a chicken last a week.

OrlandoWoolf · 22/03/2015 09:52

Does your ex pay maintenance?

That's where you could fit in on here. Or does he not pay the recommended amount?

Moln · 22/03/2015 09:52

I was just hoping for someone who likes to wear clown shoes with knight accessories and is an activist member of 'Reform Big Fun' group.

iseenodust · 22/03/2015 09:57

The correct chicken answer is two meals and then homemade pot of stock. You should therefore stay here and literally grab the opportunities to improve yourself. Wink

Flingmoo · 22/03/2015 10:06

You're sounding a bit hard done by...! BTW, I think £21k is a pretty good salary, even here in the SE. Sure, you won't be able to afford a place in Brighton on that single income alone, but not many can these days, it's also more than any of my university educated friends earn. (Although once my med school friend graduates I'm pretty sure she's going to push up the average income in our little friendship group...)

ThatsMyOnlyShirt · 22/03/2015 10:09

Well I LOL'd.

Oh, but we don't say that on here...

OrlandoWoolf · 22/03/2015 10:09

You probably fit in more than you realise. People don't tend to post about things that don't cause them problems.

MN is a diverse mix of people. I think the time of day you post and look is important. I should imagine the demographics change during the day a lot.

I would love to look at the MN statistics. They can use the data from the web activity and the analytics to learn loads. Look at the cookies on your browser, see where else you've been, where you shop, what you browse etc etc.

not a penny in maintenance for 9 years. hes been a student for 5 of those and unemployed before that. i gave that battle up a long time ago. we have 50/50 care so its not a massive issue.

i leave the carcass in the pot and forget for 3 days then am traumatised when i take the lid off. every time.

i have no clown shoes. i have shrek feet though.

cleanmyhouse · 22/03/2015 10:18

Is your flat decorated in Farrow & Ball mouses ear?

Are cats minions of Satan or the most wonderful DPet to grace the planet?

Alan Rickman?

cleanmyhouse · 22/03/2015 11:01

what's farrow and ball.

cats are ok. but i'm allergic. i wish i loved like a cat, you know, on my terms, but i'm more like a dog in love - bouncy and enthusiastic, potentially destructive without meaning to be, shamed for my excitable niavety, ultimately blamed for the bad smell.

hmmmm. Alan rickman, i haven't thought about him in years. was he the one in 'truly madly deeply'? i think i quite liked him in that.
