Really annoys me too. I'm in Ireland and see it frequently in magazines here and they even used loose on a weight loss ad!

YABU to be enraged, but it irritates me much more than their/they're/there because at least they sound the same. When I'm reading and encounter someone who wants to loose weight it has a really jarring sensation, rather like stubbing your toe.
