I was scheduled to work 8am till 4pm was offered the chance to cash in some holiday hours and finish early so I jumped at the chance, thought I would clean the house and sort my washing out whilst 20week old DS is in nursery, well....I've done none of it...I'm sat in my house eating chocolate fingers relaxing. I've done no house work or washing I'm just bumming about. I need to pick DS up at 4pm but I'm loving the silence and peace, I've managed to drink a cup of tea whilst it's still hot and eating my bodyweight in chocolate, I'm a bad person aren't I?

No, you are normal. You should be at work officially, but are not. Might as well make the most of it. Enjoy

MinnieM1 · 31/12/2014 12:12

Yes, I would've picked my son up. 5 months is very Young to be in nursery but I understand you have to work, but to leave him there so you can eat chocolate fingers in peace is ... Well a bit odd and a bit inexcusable IMO

slightlyworriednc · 31/12/2014 12:15

Wow, Minnie! Just...wow!

Elliemayclampett · 31/12/2014 12:16

I'd stick a load in the washing machine so I felt like I was doing something and put the kettle back on, find something to watch on telly and put my feet up with the rest of the biscuits. Enjoy your break!

Gatehouse77 · 31/12/2014 12:17

Pah! To Minnie M1 - everyone needs/deserves a break sometimes.

Kick back and enjoy!

LadyLuck10 · 31/12/2014 12:17

If you are planning to do nothing then you should pick him up a bit early. He's 5 months. Poor baby.

Blackout234 · 31/12/2014 12:17

Minnie i hope thats a joke. Everyones entitled to a break. She got half a day off work so wants to relax, Sheesh. Life must be fun for you!

backwardpossom · 31/12/2014 12:18

Minnie is obviously joking. Hmm Do not feel guilty, you needed some R&R time and you took it. Good for you :)

FunkyBoldRibena · 31/12/2014 12:18

No - enjoy every minute!

Blackout234 · 31/12/2014 12:18

Poor baby!? He's in nursery, Not a burning building!

whois · 31/12/2014 12:18

Maybe the baby likes nursery OP?

whois · 31/12/2014 12:19

Minns. Not OP.

whois · 31/12/2014 12:19

ARGH stupid auto correct! Minnie. Not Minns. Not OP!

GingerCuddleMonster · 31/12/2014 12:20

I was thinking along the lines of being unreasonable haven't not cleaned not leaving DS in nursery, he was staying there regardless of what I decided to do I've paid for it, he is fine and probably getting more attention and cuddles than he would with me at home attempting to clean around him Blush

You normally work, you have a small child and run a house. Bloody right you get to have some time to yourself to relax, recharge & unwind occasionally.

BlackDaisies · 31/12/2014 12:20

Oh that sounds perfect! Everyone needs a break. But I agree I'd stick a wash on and run the Hoover over the middle of the floors for 5 mins. So you can pretend you used the time wisely.

PrincessOfChina · 31/12/2014 12:20

I do the same thing. Admittedly DD is older now but I do feel taking some time for yourself is important.

I would try and do something with the house though. Things take much less time when there are no children around.

GERTgert06 · 31/12/2014 12:21

No, you are not a bad person. Mums get little chance to chill out. Make the most of it. Have another biscuit. :)
