To think that DP should have gone to the police in the first place....(warning: graphic)

OK so DP has been doing some subcontracting work at my old uni. With his friend who i didn't think he had worked with for years. Anyway, it turns out they fell out with the contractor and like the petty buggers that they are, went back and dug up one of the paths that they lay. This was back in the summer. The university is set in woodlands and there are lots of winding, out of the way, paths. He TOLD me this path was out of the way.

Anyway, in typical DP fashion, he dithers and procrastinates and finally comes clean to me that they uncovered a bit of a problem. So i go along to his garage (the garage he gave up about 5 years ago Hmm). The concrete mixer that he hired 5 years ago was still there ffs, turns out he is still paying for it (they call him mr mixer at the hire place, now i know why!) . So DP hands me a carrier bag and what is inside? A fucking severed head Shock, quite well preserved but he insists it was dug up at the path site. He has kept it in the garage, along with the cement mixer (tbh im more angry about this than the head, we can't afford to keep paying for hire on something that we would have paid for ten times over by now).

Now he wants to re-bury the head and reinstate the path Hmm So like an idiot i go along with him, with the head in a carrier bag ffs, back to my old uni to find the path, which of course he can't remember where it is! For some reason, we ended up wandering around my old department, got lost and ended up in the tea room, which had moved, everyone turned and looked at me, i remember some of the professors but no one acknowledged my presence (bit hurtful but relieved not to be asked questions).

We finally find our way outside and everythings changed, there are straw hut bars all over the place and its like some sort of tropical celebration is taking place and there are students EVERYWHERE!

I'm getting worried by this point and thinking that we need to find somewhere else to hide the head. The path where DP found it lead right up to my old department and it seems that someone else has already recovered it.

We know our local woods (theres quite a lot of them) quite well from years of dog walking but I worry that a dog will dig up the head, its been in the back of DP's car, albeit in a plastic bag from the local bookshop (actually quite a thin bag so if you look hard you can make out a face Shock but if you're not expecting to see a severed head i doubt you'd realise) there is going to be forensic evidence isn't there?

I should also like to know, just out of curiosity Hmm who the head belonged to - as a coincidence, when we were walking through the party area (all the tropical bars) i heard on the radio that corpse of a prince was found about 50 miles away - it didn't mention that it was headless but really....it HAS to be the body doesn't it?

I cannot understand why DP didn't just call the police in the first instance, because now we are fucked. I want him to go to the police and explain everything and think that it would be the correct thing to do. I think i managed to persuade him.

I was in bed this morning getting this all straight in my head when DD came in and woke me up.....................Wink

I had to write it down, just to try and straighten it out in my head, they say you should do that at the first opportunity don't they, or you forget things, its all getting vaguer by the minute

I have strange dreams - often big vast adventure thriller type dreams - usually with breathtaking scenery which I am often astounded by and vast landscapes - eg I could be on a boat on a river and when I look down into the river it is deeper than possible like looking off a cliff and with water snakes the size of houses.

My mum has dreams more like yours with strange realities - I get them sometimes too but mine vary a lot between adventure, weird and weird school/uni/work angst and sometimes the odd boring dream.

AshesOfRoses · 30/12/2014 21:33

I have been eating cheese biscuits dipped in bacon jam. There is an enormous Camembert with honey and pecans in the fridge. If I eat that then I might be able to complete the dream myself.

I'll report back in the morning.

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 21:38

where do you live ashes . I'm coming round for some of that cheese. bacon jam?? is that a thing?

meltedmonterayjack · 30/12/2014 21:46

Last night, my friends (who know I have a terrible sense of direction), left me in the hotel we were having a drink in to go on to another place for a meal. I couldn't find it and then had my bag taken with my phone and purse and keys in it. I was very relieved to wake up this morning and for it not to be real.

AshesOfRoses · 30/12/2014 21:47

I really enjoyed your post op. Grin I was Shock and then Grin and then Confused at some of the replies.

o0 · 30/12/2014 22:16

Brilliant. Xmas Grin

I once had a dream that Thomas The Tank Engine and all his trainy pals had grown to 100ft tall and went on a murder spree. They didn't need railway tracks and were just cruising the streets waiting to mow down/eat passing people.

I can't even beging to analyse that.

froomeonthebroom · 30/12/2014 22:23

Last night I dreamt that I was in Hamleys to buy a wind up hamster (as you do) but when I picked one up and looked for the off switch I realised it was actually a live hamster.

It was wriggling and trying to escape so I stuffed it into an aquarium which I thought was its cage and did the same with several other hamsters.

The aquarium turned out to be full or water so all the hamsters drowned Sad . I offered to pay for them but the shopkeeper said he gets them for free so not to worry.

Interpret that then, I dares ya! Grin

Deemail · 30/12/2014 22:26

As someone who has mad dreams I love this thread, makes me feel normal :-D

I have crazy dreams but if I don't recount them ASAP, I forget them so I understand the need to get this gem down in writing!!

EBearhug · 30/12/2014 22:50

chocolate covered stilton

This is stepping beyond weird dreams well into nightmare territory.

GlitterBelle · 30/12/2014 23:03

Did you go to the University of Kent? A lot of the university is in woods, and it's easy to get lost in the colleges. Assuming that part of your dream is based in reality?

But I'm sure it describes a lot of universities!

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 23:06

my university sits on top of a hill and its more confusing colleges celebrate the genius that was rutherford and elliott. oh and there was rumoured to be an albino squirrel ;)

Words can't describe my happiness for you when I read the end! I didn't know whether to laugh or phone the police! I only get a proper dream a couple times a year, I always want one but never get one!! Grin

IT WAS A DREAM

IceBeing · 30/12/2014 23:46

I had a not so much funny dream as a massively helpful one last night.

I have been having a bit of a shit time over xmas and getting a bit locked into my depressive loops...but last night I dreamed a full hours worth of CBT based counselling...I even accurately dreamed the journey there and back...

And I woke up this morning feeling so very much better.

The only problem is how to broach this with my actual real life therapist....

EBearhug · 30/12/2014 23:53

I think that's excellent, getting therapy in your sleep!
