To think that DP should have gone to the police in the first place....(warning: graphic)

OK so DP has been doing some subcontracting work at my old uni. With his friend who i didn't think he had worked with for years. Anyway, it turns out they fell out with the contractor and like the petty buggers that they are, went back and dug up one of the paths that they lay. This was back in the summer. The university is set in woodlands and there are lots of winding, out of the way, paths. He TOLD me this path was out of the way.

Anyway, in typical DP fashion, he dithers and procrastinates and finally comes clean to me that they uncovered a bit of a problem. So i go along to his garage (the garage he gave up about 5 years ago Hmm). The concrete mixer that he hired 5 years ago was still there ffs, turns out he is still paying for it (they call him mr mixer at the hire place, now i know why!) . So DP hands me a carrier bag and what is inside? A fucking severed head Shock, quite well preserved but he insists it was dug up at the path site. He has kept it in the garage, along with the cement mixer (tbh im more angry about this than the head, we can't afford to keep paying for hire on something that we would have paid for ten times over by now).

Now he wants to re-bury the head and reinstate the path Hmm So like an idiot i go along with him, with the head in a carrier bag ffs, back to my old uni to find the path, which of course he can't remember where it is! For some reason, we ended up wandering around my old department, got lost and ended up in the tea room, which had moved, everyone turned and looked at me, i remember some of the professors but no one acknowledged my presence (bit hurtful but relieved not to be asked questions).

We finally find our way outside and everythings changed, there are straw hut bars all over the place and its like some sort of tropical celebration is taking place and there are students EVERYWHERE!

I'm getting worried by this point and thinking that we need to find somewhere else to hide the head. The path where DP found it lead right up to my old department and it seems that someone else has already recovered it.

We know our local woods (theres quite a lot of them) quite well from years of dog walking but I worry that a dog will dig up the head, its been in the back of DP's car, albeit in a plastic bag from the local bookshop (actually quite a thin bag so if you look hard you can make out a face Shock but if you're not expecting to see a severed head i doubt you'd realise) there is going to be forensic evidence isn't there?

I should also like to know, just out of curiosity Hmm who the head belonged to - as a coincidence, when we were walking through the party area (all the tropical bars) i heard on the radio that corpse of a prince was found about 50 miles away - it didn't mention that it was headless but really....it HAS to be the body doesn't it?

I cannot understand why DP didn't just call the police in the first instance, because now we are fucked. I want him to go to the police and explain everything and think that it would be the correct thing to do. I think i managed to persuade him.

I was in bed this morning getting this all straight in my head when DD came in and woke me up.....................Wink

I had to write it down, just to try and straighten it out in my head, they say you should do that at the first opportunity don't they, or you forget things, its all getting vaguer by the minute

Tinkerball · 30/12/2014 11:23

I get you wanting to write it down so you don't forget it but it's the putting it in AIBU I don't get - if you wanted others mad crazy dreams you should just have said!

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:25

I am Hmm at those people who are getting so cross about it. Surely MN generally is a garbled load of crap that you chose to read or not. Some posters are sounding like DM readers that avidly read about the Royal Family then comment about their freeloadiness.

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:26

TSSDNCOP - either you have been reading my previous posts or that is worringly accurate! I often dream about the uni and getting lost in the corridors (to be fair i got lost a fair bit when i was there!). I am not sure i even have a career plan....but it certainly got buried!

Argentinianmalbec - i take medication that is known to give vivid dreams as a side effect but my dreams have always been a bit weird, i thought everones were

Bunch of miserable bastards!
I thought it was funny LEM. Although I was getting a bit alarmed, especially when I scrolled up to check the OP name and saw it was you!

Now I have to ask...do they really call him Mr Mixer? Cos I'd investigate that...maybe he really is still paying for a mixer and your brain has just worked it out in a very convoluted way!!

26Point2Miles · 30/12/2014 11:28

You are complicit in this now

If this is real get to the police ASAP.... If not I'm reporting you myself via HQ!

however · 30/12/2014 11:28

We're you wearing underpants in the dream? I never do...

WutheringFrights · 30/12/2014 11:28

I once dreamt that my housemate had the body of a giant spider and he was crawling over the top of a train we were all in. He was a lovely chap...not at all spidery in real life...but it all seemed so plausible at the time!
I wake up all the time pissed off at DH for something he has done in one of my dreams, but then he brings me a coffee in bed and all is forgiven.
LEM I guessed it was a dream at the straw huts....apparently it seemed perfectly reasonable up to that point!

PastPerfect · 30/12/2014 11:28

Who cares?! Hmm

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:29

Never read your posts before OP. Maybe the career plan is in fact the severed head! It was buried, exhumed but kept hidden and you're getting it out now. There's risk involved (in the carrying it round campus), you can see it but not totally clearly (face in the bag) but you won't let it be hidden again (dream refusing to let you find the original burial ground).

AshesOfRoses · 30/12/2014 11:30

WutheringFrights, so did I!

AshesOfRoses · 30/12/2014 11:31

Thought it was perfectly reasonable until the straw huts that is.

I haven't dreamed that my housemate was a spider, ever.

WutheringFrights · 30/12/2014 11:32

however just in dreams or in real life? Grin

ClashCityRocker · 30/12/2014 11:33

Maybe you're psychic and there is a body there.......

Did you wake up pissed off at DH though? I always do if DH has been a twat in a dream. Which is really harsh because he's hardly ever a twat IRL.

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:34

I am arachnophobic. I have a recurring dream where someone gifts me a tarantula in a matchbox. Once freed, the tarantula knows I am it's "mother" and nothing will deter its desire to be held by me.

ArgentinianMalbec · 30/12/2014 11:34

LEM my DP doesn't ever dream about anything (or doesn't remember them) how boring! I have strange dreams. No medication though, just cheese related. Did you have cheese on top of your meds? Confused I do like a good interesting dream. I am a bit Hmm about posters getting cross about this, it's just a bit of lighthearted entertainment for a very boring workday, and made me laugh Grin

stubbornstains · 30/12/2014 11:35

Do you deep down feel that DP isn't supportive about your career plans- ie sabotaging your old university?

I am also wondering if the not returning the mixer on time thing is an encroachment from real life....is your DP guilty of this?

It's also clear that you need a holiday in some kind of tropical paradise Smile

SaucyJack · 30/12/2014 11:35

That is possibly the most terrifying thing I have ever read in my entire life TSSDNCOP.

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:35

I think you are right TSSCNCOP, all of it! Maybe i will finally sort my "career" out! I have vowed i will get a job this year (at least it will stop me pissing people off by posting drivel on mnet)

I don't think they call him mr mixer, just cement mixer man - which is a source of some Hmm in our house let me tell you! Also the garage and the old friend are relevent too because they represent a time when DP was being gullible in his business as thie friend basically was a lazy fucker that took the piss.

If i were really intending on wasting peoples time and pearl clutching energies i wouldn't have said it was a dream, although its a testament to my lack of imagination and writing ability that people even thought i was serious as i thought it was all a bit confused, like, well, a dream :) I do apologise if i have upset anyone

OP posts:
ClashCityRocker · 30/12/2014 11:35

I think the head represents a secret between you and your DP or something you're trying to hide

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:36

Mine would be AiBU to beat an unwanted pet half to death then annihilate it with a flame thrower I bought from a man who had a mixer in his garage oh, and a severed head?

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:38

I used to be terrified of spiders, until i got a voluntary job working in a room with about 500 of the biggest tarantulas you were ever likely to meet! They are actually quite lovely and i love they way they move. DP was going to get me one for christmas but i am glad he didn't because i actually quite like crickets

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:39

Saucy it is. Often in the dream I am so terrified I am screaming and screaming. But I am so terrified the scream won't come out.

DH says I never make a sound which amazes me because you'd honestly think I'd be screaming the place down.

dorasee · 30/12/2014 11:40

I will never get this 5 wasted minutes of my life back OP...you b@stard. Wink Well you had me hooked.

EBearhug · 30/12/2014 11:41

I'm glad this was a dream. It'd be a whole load of hassle otherwise.

I grew up on a farm. The next-door farm were digging out a new silage clamp. They uncovered a skeleton. Police were involved and all sorts. Fortunately, it turned out to be a Roman legionary, so counted as archaeology rather than a crime.

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:41

dorasee - it could have been worse, you could have read 50 shades of grey (that happened to me! true :( )
