To think that DP should have gone to the police in the first place....(warning: graphic)

OK so DP has been doing some subcontracting work at my old uni. With his friend who i didn't think he had worked with for years. Anyway, it turns out they fell out with the contractor and like the petty buggers that they are, went back and dug up one of the paths that they lay. This was back in the summer. The university is set in woodlands and there are lots of winding, out of the way, paths. He TOLD me this path was out of the way.

Anyway, in typical DP fashion, he dithers and procrastinates and finally comes clean to me that they uncovered a bit of a problem. So i go along to his garage (the garage he gave up about 5 years ago Hmm). The concrete mixer that he hired 5 years ago was still there ffs, turns out he is still paying for it (they call him mr mixer at the hire place, now i know why!) . So DP hands me a carrier bag and what is inside? A fucking severed head Shock, quite well preserved but he insists it was dug up at the path site. He has kept it in the garage, along with the cement mixer (tbh im more angry about this than the head, we can't afford to keep paying for hire on something that we would have paid for ten times over by now).

Now he wants to re-bury the head and reinstate the path Hmm So like an idiot i go along with him, with the head in a carrier bag ffs, back to my old uni to find the path, which of course he can't remember where it is! For some reason, we ended up wandering around my old department, got lost and ended up in the tea room, which had moved, everyone turned and looked at me, i remember some of the professors but no one acknowledged my presence (bit hurtful but relieved not to be asked questions).

We finally find our way outside and everythings changed, there are straw hut bars all over the place and its like some sort of tropical celebration is taking place and there are students EVERYWHERE!

I'm getting worried by this point and thinking that we need to find somewhere else to hide the head. The path where DP found it lead right up to my old department and it seems that someone else has already recovered it.

We know our local woods (theres quite a lot of them) quite well from years of dog walking but I worry that a dog will dig up the head, its been in the back of DP's car, albeit in a plastic bag from the local bookshop (actually quite a thin bag so if you look hard you can make out a face Shock but if you're not expecting to see a severed head i doubt you'd realise) there is going to be forensic evidence isn't there?

I should also like to know, just out of curiosity Hmm who the head belonged to - as a coincidence, when we were walking through the party area (all the tropical bars) i heard on the radio that corpse of a prince was found about 50 miles away - it didn't mention that it was headless but really....it HAS to be the body doesn't it?

I cannot understand why DP didn't just call the police in the first instance, because now we are fucked. I want him to go to the police and explain everything and think that it would be the correct thing to do. I think i managed to persuade him.

I was in bed this morning getting this all straight in my head when DD came in and woke me up.....................Wink

I had to write it down, just to try and straighten it out in my head, they say you should do that at the first opportunity don't they, or you forget things, its all getting vaguer by the minute

I have crazy detailed dreams like that too. Maybe you should invest in a notebook by your bed so you don't have to use MN as a place to write them down!!
Then you could make a new Twilight Zone series of short stories when you've got enough written down!

I particularly like the 'thin enough to see a face' bag detail!!

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:08

Tinkerbell, i think i explained that in my final paragraph!

Imperial - isn't mnet a time waste fest anyway?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 30/12/2014 11:08

Oh - it's a dream. OK. What's the AIBU?

randycheeseburger · 30/12/2014 11:08

I've had dreams like that before, I think we both need help

TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:09

I thought it was funny OP.

I'd have been more cross in a dream about the cement mixer too. I bet you spent a lot of time on that bit. I always seem to gnaw away n a dream at a completely random point. Love the straw huts.

What did you eat before bed last night?

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:09

Stealth, i am, it worries me that you find that somehow relevant HmmGrin

Unless its the medication :)

OP posts:
gamerchick · 30/12/2014 11:10

You have fucked up dreams man Grin

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:10

TSSDNCOP - The sad bit is that there is more than just an element of truth about the cement mixer (he kept the fucking thing for 6 months and it cost us more in hire prices than buying a new one!) so no i am irrationally narked with DP and his face is a bit Confused

Nelehwelly · 30/12/2014 11:10

Utter shite. Complete and utter shite.

Try harder next time.

grannytomine · 30/12/2014 11:11

I'm sorry, I couldn't finish reading as I was laughing so much. This sounds like a complete fantasy, I hope so anyway.

ZombieApocalypse · 30/12/2014 11:11

I had a major WTF moment then until I got to the end.

AshesOfRoses · 30/12/2014 11:11

Go back to sleep and try to find out who the severed head belongs to and what happens next.

thornrose · 30/12/2014 11:11

I was in bed this morning getting this all straight in my head when DD came in and woke me up.....................wink this is the crucial sentence people are missing!

Nelehwelly · 30/12/2014 11:12

By are you posting dreams in AIBU?

LongDistanceLove · 30/12/2014 11:12

It's a dream! Hmm a strange dream at that.

Nelehwelly · 30/12/2014 11:14

I didn't miss the dream element. I just don't know why someone is posting shite such as a dream they had in AIBU.

Waste of time.

lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:16

Ashes - I would normally do that as i can TRY and sort my dreams out if i go back to them but only if ive not been disturbed when i wake up.

The question is, WTF does it all mean?

OP posts:
lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:18

Feel free not to read it nelehwelly - i wasted more of my time writing it than you have reading it. I wont be the first person to post shite in AIBU. I thought about chat but AIBU suited the title i think. If you can think of a better section, do tell, I don't think they have a "time wasting waffly shit" section, maybe they should :)

OP posts:
lemisscared · 30/12/2014 11:19

Although to be fair, i haven't achieved what i wanted to with my Shite AIBU, i was hoping other people would offer up their fucked up dreams...maybe i should get MNHQ to edit the title, just to make it clear

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 30/12/2014 11:19

Hmm

So the mixer is a bone of contention.

Now the straw huts. Do you miss Uni? Have you got a career plan that's not quite got off the ground?

ArgentinianMalbec · 30/12/2014 11:20

hahaha!!! I was Shock until I read the last line!!!!!!!!! Excellent. I think it means you ate too much cheese last night before bed! Sometimes I do that on purpose just for shits and giggles. I know how to live, me... Blush

Neverknowingly · 30/12/2014 11:21

FFS who are all these people who can't a) work out it is a dream and b) concentrate and rtwholeft such that OP says at the end that she woke up (making it clear to the hard of thinking) that it was a dream.

LOL OP. I often wake up angry with DH for something he has done in a dream.

Neverknowingly · 30/12/2014 11:21

punctuation fail!

Nelehwelly · 30/12/2014 11:22

If you'd said at the very start it was a dream then I wouldn't have wanted my time, thanks - but you didn't drip that in until the end of your post, did you?

Maybe MNHQ could amend the title to 'warning: someone's 'fascinating' dream'?

Neverknowingly · 30/12/2014 11:23

fairly pointless then for the rest of it who derived a little amusement from it though. TBF I'm more amused at your ire though!
