To think that a crutchless bodystocking is an awful present?!

I happened to peek over my boyfriends shoulder when he was ordering my christmas present, to my horror he has bought me a crutchless bodystocking. What is a reasonable reaction to have?
a) Fane affection for the said present
b) Express deep horror of being equipped with porn star style under garments erm, I am a size 12 and will look so hideous and unsexy in said underwear, and besides this is not my 'thang'.
c) Quickly shoe him out of the house before his child goes to bed, in the hope that I will delay the said present that is cringeworthy to another day, feigning prior evening engagements.
d) ANY other ideas? HELP!!!!! I have six hours to come up with a diplomatic solution.

"I've never dressed up for dh"

I wear stuff like in the links that I feel nice in.

Things like the body stocking are surely OK if both are happy with it, or if one has mentioned that they would like it.

To just be presented with one-not so good imo!

WowserBowser · 07/01/2015 15:25

Yes, I think if it makes a woman happy she can wear the fuck she likes.

DayLillie · 07/01/2015 15:32

I don't think i've ever even cooked for my Dh

If my DH thinks I am a maid in the living room, dressed up or otherwise, I'm not cooking either.

A crutch less body stocking!? WTAF. The crutch is the only thing that stops my flaps leaving skid marks on the floor!!

No thank you!! No porn star regalia for me. I think that you should make HIM wear it Blush

Phew wowser randomdad had me worried. I wear thermals to bed at the mo. I'm 27.

OK, ‘token of love’ is pushing it. My point is more that it isn’t inherently awful to buy your partner lingerie, whereas planning to laugh in his face might be.

Moving on…Someone said ‘look what happened to Jerry Hall’ and I’m not a Daily Mail reader, so had to look her up and by chance we actually get an insight into her Christmas present.

She was with ex-husband Mick and their kids on Christmas Day, he was cooking the turkey and she was expecting a fridge-freezer from him.

Much better than a bodystocking. I can’t believe she didn’t have an ice-maker already.

As a hard working (panto) and successful mother of 4 is she not a reasonable role model?

Also, is anyone amused or offended that the context sensitive adverts on this page (right) are now showing (to me anyway) lacy lingerie. Oh the irony.

ithoughtofitfirst · 07/01/2015 18:53

That reminds me of when I was watching that kitchen gun (BANG BANG BANG) sketch on YouTube and then all the ads on the next thing I looked at were for cillit bang.

SPOOKY.

Really sorry it has ended up this way.

With all his recent behaviour can I recommend a trip to an STI clinic. Just in case...

BuzzardBird · 07/01/2015 19:33

Oh come on Random. It was obvious he was cheating on her and she only got the sprout net because she saw it over his shoulder and he knew she had.
Nothing wrong with a bit of dressing up, but it's not a gift 'for her', it's a gift for him.

ZombieApocalypse · 07/01/2015 19:47

I don't think anyone's saying buying underwear is inherently awful. But buying a sprout net for someone who has never indicated they want one, then lying about it is quite awful. If DH bought me one, I'd think he'd taken leave of his senses. I wouldn't mind at all if he bought me underwear but he's enough of a normal human being to understand that I'd probably need to have some input in what he bought.
