No Happy, nobody can argue with an Oreo milkshake. nobody I'd associate with anyway Wink.

Hatespiders · 30/11/2014 21:27

it's called a cattle crush. (It doesn't actually crush the cow of course) You operate it with a foot pedal and it just closes so that the cow's head is held gently between two bars while the vet examines it or ear tags are put in etc.

Fabulous46 · 30/11/2014 21:42

Aw, she's talking about a crush! My mind was boggling about what a "rape cage" was Hmm. Our vet and DH inseminate in the old milk shed with old fashioned stalls, we don't use the crushes for that.

Samcro · 30/11/2014 22:29

what do these people think will happen to the cows if we don't buy milk??
do they think they will be let free to roam and forage?? yeah cos they are wild animals .......not

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 30/11/2014 22:30

I believe Dairy cows have a much harder life than meat cows.

LastOneDancing · 30/11/2014 22:43

I've never had a milkshake. Ever.

I might give them a whirl.

Sorry Pauline.

Honeydragon · 30/11/2014 22:47

This ended up a weird thread. Is Pauline perhaps planning on writing 50 Shades of Moo?

How can a thread about milkshakes go wrong? Confused I mean it's surely one of the least offensive topics
But no, milkshakes are a meal, not to have alongside a meal. They make you fat. Or bloated. Or something something to do with cows. I read the first line of that post and scrolled past. It's a milkshake, not crack

MrsWembley · 30/11/2014 22:55

I really really really really REALLY want a milkshake now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Biscuit flavoured...

Sparklingbrook · 30/11/2014 22:59

MILKSHAKE!

Went to Glastonbury while 7 months pregnant with DD1. As the cider bus was out of bounds, I spent the weekend drinking gorgeous banana milkshakes.

SkaterGrrrrl · 30/11/2014 23:03

Christ I could murder a milkshake.

Waltonswatcher · 30/11/2014 23:06

Ok so some extremes have been mentioned but, the milk and egg industry are repugnant to a vegan for logical reasons . Along the way animals are killed to get the end product. The insemination methods can be debated , but that fact remains .
So many vegans can't understand how a vegetarian can drink milk and eat eggs .
Just sayin!
I love coconut milk and fruit shakes- but not with my lunch op!

Honeydragon · 30/11/2014 23:10

I use coconut milk to make milk shakes too, it's nicer with fruit.

StripedOss · 30/11/2014 23:11

i like the frijj ones, i drink the strawberry ones for breakfast sometimes.

RandallFloyd · 30/11/2014 23:18

Is that really what that song is about?
Well bugger me.
For once I actually thought something was ruder than it was.

I used to bloody love a nice cold Crusha, made in the blender with a bit of ice cream, natch. Haven't had one since an unfortunate hyperemisis incident but maybe it's time to bite the bullet.

Tzibeleh · 30/11/2014 23:42

HappyYoni, the egg helps the milkshake stay frothy and thickens it without making it gloopy. It also adds protein (my db was an athlete in those pre-Edwina's-egg-scare days).

nihatsgirl · 01/12/2014 01:11

I love nesquick milkshake. I don't like thick ready made ones. I never use ice cream when I make a milkshake . I also lost 90kilos over 2-3 years by drinking milkshake and having one meal a day. I love milkshake and would happily live on them. Exception to thick milkshake is mcd strawberry. Still I don't bother because of the long wait

Crusha Syrup is horrible. Sad

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 01/12/2014 13:35

I make mine with a tub of yoghurt and some berries chucked in... yum and ice cream sometimes too.

marcopront · 01/12/2014 13:57

A cafe near us makes milk shakes with ice cream. They do a chocolate brownie one which has lumps of brownie in it, it is scrummy. They even deliver, we might have to have one tonight.

MrsWembley · 01/12/2014 16:22

Milkshakes delivered to your door!!
