To hate Barbara Windsor.....

and her Jackpot Balls?

I'm usually quite tolerant of naff adverts but this is just lewd and cringeworthy and makes me want to throw things at the TV.

Such innuendo aimed at women on daytime tv is now, thankfully, unacceptable so what sort of message is this ad sending?

She's a disgrace to modern women and should have retired years ago.

That's a very nice thing she did Busty.

Twotallladies · 09/09/2014 12:43

I think sometimes big US stars can be talked into doing ads which will only show in the UK....Kevin Bacon, I'm looking at you. I like him, though, so it's OK.

Alisvolatpropiis · 09/09/2014 12:44

Don't forget Eva Longoria and the Sheba cat food adverts!

I was very ShockHmm the first time I saw that.

partialderivative · 09/09/2014 12:47

Didn't Becks do some ads that were only shown in Japan

Pointlessfan · 09/09/2014 12:50

If her bing ad had a bloke making innuendo type comments about women in their underwear there would be uproar! I can't see why this is any different because it features topless men. I'm really sick of these double standards eg if women on a hen do have a stripper it's a hilarious bit of fun but when men do it it's sleazy and objectifies women. It's no different!

Bambambini · 09/09/2014 12:54

"I hate her. I hate Ray Winstone. In fact I hate any washed up sleb the gambling industry thinks will appeal to the proles who whores themselves out advertising it."

Wouldn't say hate, more disgusted with anyone who promotes these vulture sites.

efeslight · 09/09/2014 12:56

Yes, agree with you there, don't like Barbara, Ray Winstone or Vinnie Jones either-that kind of thuggish Southerner thing they've got going on- but I love London, and thankfully didn't meet many of this type when I was living there. I think Amanda Holden will eventually morph into Barbara.

chockbic · 09/09/2014 12:57

She's very much a product of her generation when sexism was blatantly allowed and indeed played up to.

Having said that I dont mind seeing pictures of David Gandy in his pants!

IPityThePontipines · 09/09/2014 12:58

Kevin Bacon lost millions in the Bernie Madoff scandal.

These ads must be such easy money, I can see the temptation.

However, the deregulation of gambling in this country is an utter disgrace. Advert after advert encouraging people to throw their money away. We are going to have a major problem with gambling addiction soon.

chockbic · 09/09/2014 13:01

I'm surprised people have enough money left over from playing the lottery for these bingo games.

Pointlessfan · 09/09/2014 13:04

Completely agree about the gambling ads. I think gambling can be as destructive to lives as drinking or smoking and advertising of those products is tightly regulated. I can't see why gambling ads are allowed 24 hours a day.

Icelollycraving · 09/09/2014 13:11

Yabu. I like her, she's chirpy. Served her a few times, always friendly & polite.

Notso · 09/09/2014 13:25

I know someone who does work for her and she is apparently lovely. I always feel a bit sorry for her, I'd hate to be so type cast.

UriGeller · 09/09/2014 13:27

I've a few stories about BW from an old friend of mine who worked in a costume department.

She isn't well liked by those behind the scenes.

squoosh · 09/09/2014 13:28

I don't mind a bit of Babs, she's like a relic from a bygone era. We'll not see her buxom like again.

CharethCutestory · 09/09/2014 14:20

'I can't see why gambling ads are allowed 24 hours a day' Hear Hear Pointlessfan!

FishCalledWonder · 09/09/2014 14:28

Big American stars doing shite ads over here always reminds me of Joey: m.youtube.com/watch?v=-nkk53P2aFM

fluffyraggies · 09/09/2014 14:38

I've watched a couple of carry on's for the first time in years and years recently. A hospital one and a camping one. Last time i saw them i was probably about 8 or 9.

I was amazed at just how un-buxom BW actually was! The bra flying off scene was a bit raunchy in it's time and i clearly remember all the 'busty babs' hype, but she doesn't look much bigger than a B cup. Odd.

whatsbehindthegreendoor · 09/09/2014 14:42

I have to say, I am a massive fan of the Carry On film series and it really annoys me that Barbara Windsor is always lauded as the 'Queen' of Carry On - to my mind she was a 2-trick pony - curvy figure and stupid laugh! Still, to give her credit, she has managed to make a career out of it for an awfully long time, so fair play to her for that I guess!

MalibuStacy · 09/09/2014 14:54

I met someone who met her once, who said that she had tiny little hands that made her feel sick.

I like her. I think she's probably very genuine.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 09/09/2014 15:01

Yes I was shocked at her abortion count.

I was surprised at Pacino, bizarre? Maybe he has lots of ex wives and children?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 09/09/2014 15:02

fluffy I know she's not buxom at all Confused

fatlazymummy · 09/09/2014 15:14

I don't like Barbara Windsor either, there's something cold about her. I've got to be honest, the multiple terminations is part of why I feel that way about her. That's also one of the many reasons why I don't like Maddona (though that could just be rumours in her case). I fully accept she was within her rights though, and it's none of my business.
Other than that, I couldn't care less about the adverts. I usually flick through the channels when they come on. A lot of 'celebrities' make money through adverts and endorsements, and so would I if I had the chance. At least Barbara Windsor earned her fame through working rather than sitting in a house for 10 weeks or shagging someone famous.

Goringbit Shock well, another childhood illusion shattered Sad
