Why, did somebody say that you were BU?

Would need more info on the garment to form an opinion here though

waithorse · 29/08/2014 14:57

Picture of the dress please.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/08/2014 14:59

It, really obviously, depends. Outfit?

Pipbin · 29/08/2014 14:59

To many variables to make a judgement.
-what kind of wedding?
-are we talking a dress or a gimp suit?
-are you a size 30?
-are you a man?

Well it depends

Were you the bride?
Was it a leotard?

WD41 · 29/08/2014 15:01

It wasn't a Chinese wedding was it?

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/08/2014 15:04

This?

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 29/08/2014 15:04

Was it a pair of cycling shorts? .

UncouthLostYouth · 29/08/2014 15:08

A bit like this.

It was 5 years ago.

Mother of bride mentioned my dress to me a little disapprovingly last week Blush

I should have gone for what MrsTerry suggests... Grin

That looks lovely. If only I had the figure.

foslady · 29/08/2014 15:11

5 years ago and she only just complains now????????

I love it btw

UncouthLostYouth · 29/08/2014 15:11

(I should perhaps emphasise - that's what the dress looked like, not my figure...)

YWBU. Red lycra should only be worn at Christenings as any fule no... x

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 29/08/2014 15:13

Look at it this way. You obviously made an impact on her Grin

wafflyversatile · 29/08/2014 15:20

A bit unreasonable yes. It's a bit of a LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME dress.

A friend once said Jane Norman's stuff is what your DH's OW is wearing. Shock I was wearing a top from there when she said it. Angry

squoosh · 29/08/2014 15:20

Sounds pretty tacky but it's not a wedding without someone poured into a bit of bodycon lycra.

CrockedPot · 29/08/2014 15:25

Obviously you had all the male guests tongues hanging out and she felt you took the attention away from her dd on her big day.

Curlyweasel · 29/08/2014 15:26

I wore an extremely tight emerald green dress to my DB's wedding about 10 years ago. You live and learn.

VanitasVanitatum · 29/08/2014 15:27

Wow, five years later.. You made an impact!! Seriously though, she's still ruminating on this?! Motherofthebridezilla..

UncouthLostYouth · 29/08/2014 15:41

bit of a LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME dress
Oh dear, perhaps it looked a little that way in retrospect... I was young(ish) and stupid.
Yes, am a little gobsmacked that her mum remembered it after all this time.

Curly, that sounds rather lovely

Sounds pretty tacky but it's not a wedding without someone poured into a bit of bodycon lycra. Ha! Good to serve a purpose

Wtf? Jealous cow, much? Only women with superb figures can fit into Jane Norman stuff anyway. Good on you, OP.

Red is a great colour for Chinese weddings, and here it symbolises passion, energy, success, love - why not wear it to a wedding? Grin

Women who bitch about other peoples' clothing choices for years need to get a life.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 29/08/2014 15:44

Must have been a hell of a dress to be talked about 5 years later!

Curlyweasel · 29/08/2014 15:44

It was a Karen Millen. It was gorgeous. But - it was a LOOKATME dress and people did and I don't think my SIL will ever forget that.

I'd be horrified if someone did it to me, but as I say - you live and learn.

I'm not really surprised MOTB remembers it/you... you limelight stealing floozy!
