to ask what your toddlers have been upset over today?

Dd is just turned 2 and has a cold so is feeling rather delicate. Today she has got upset because:

I told her to be careful she didn't drop a toy onto her feet as she was barefoot and it was near the edge of the table. She cried like I'd actually made it happen.

A daisy she picked wouldn't re-plant into the grass.

The rabbit ate the carrot she gave it.

I washed her coat.

Her doll cried.

Confused

Please tell me it's not just my toddler that's high maintenance today??

3 year old - because his uncle was going out later
because his uncle hadn't gone yet
because his uncle went out.
because he wanted his drawing game on the vsmile console
because I didn't let him have 3 yoghurts
because his uncle came back
because dinner wasn't ready
because I called him to the table for dinner
because he didn't like dinner (he does)
because he had eaten all of his dinner
because I don't immediately jump to do what he demands....

and so on.

1 year old - every time I drag him off the furniture/fireplace/anything else he isn't allowed to climb on
when I was too slow getting his milk
when things were taken from him
when I dared go to the loo alone
and a load more, including every time his big brother was upset....

needsaholiday we have a tractor (from Tesco) with a driver which only fits in the seat WHEN STANDING. His refusal to sit in his seat drives ds(2) to the very edge of tantrum madness. I have had to hide the sodding driver.

Tantrums today: because he couldn't sit by the 'cost fire' at the very posh hotel where we ate lunch. (A very disapproving older chap was reading his paper/glaring - perhaps understandably! While ds clamoured over the expensively-upholstered chair opposite).

'Cosy fire' that should say - ds has been obsessed since he read Mr Biff the Boxer!

Oh and last week because we wouldn't let him go to the local department store (his favourite shop) - because we were there already.

jilliansass my ds thinks all pictures are stickers, and cries when they won't come off the page.

Because Daddy left without giving him a kiss
Because I wouldn't take him when I went running
Because we wouldn't get the hammock out
Because we were going home for lunch (rather than eating it in the car)
Because he didn't have his breakfast on the table in front of him and DD did
Because I wouldn't let him play with DD's toys in his room

Quiet day today actually.

Because he really really wanted to touch the play doh but couldn't get the lid off the pot.
Because he touched the play doh and it felt yucky.
Because his big brother tripped over a transformer and bumped his head.
Because a little dog licked his hand.

16 months old and currently being boobed to sleep. Nearly time for Wine

Because I tried to help her get a duvet over her.

And then because I have her a cuddle when she asked for one.

And then because when she bit her biscuit it was no longer whole.

I had to drape a tea towel over the oven door so she couldn't watch herself having her hysterics...Hmm
She's 27 mths. And seems to be giving up naps.

Sometimes it's exhausting, at least the 4 mth old is still full of smiles Grin

Because I wouldn't let him run while carrying a pinecone enclosed in his mouth.

Because his brother didn't want to be bashed in the head with a Hot Wheels 4x4.

Yay for bedtime!

DS is 21 months. Today he cried because -

He didn't want to get in his buggy he wanted to walk to the shops.

He didn't want to walk he didn't want to be carried

I wouldn't buy the huge chocolate sundae and 6 chocolate eclairs he selected and placed in my basket

He couldn't work out how to climb a tree in the garden

DP wouldn't let him play with the hedge clipper

I had the audacity to serve him coleslaw at dinner he wanted to serve his own (he really raged over that one until he shook)

I wiped his bum after a particulatory disgusting nappy he didn't want me to do it he wanted to wipe his own bum.

But most of all he was furious because he noticed his 8 year old sister got more chocolate ice cream than him at tea. In fact furious barely starts to decribe it

Because he wasn't allowed to have slug pellets mixed with his fishfingers.

I have no idea! Something to do with something not being ready. He never did explain. It might have been because he decided that we were having a party and children were coming, and lunch happened before the non existent guests came.
