AIBU?

to ask what your toddlers have been upset over today?

Dd is just turned 2 and has a cold so is feeling rather delicate. Today she has got upset because:

I told her to be careful she didn't drop a toy onto her feet as she was barefoot and it was near the edge of the table. She cried like I'd actually made it happen.

A daisy she picked wouldn't re-plant into the grass.

The rabbit ate the carrot she gave it.

I washed her coat.

Her doll cried.

Confused

Please tell me it's not just my toddler that's high maintenance today??

Because he wanted to go on the swing.
Because he was on the swing.
Because he was giving children 2-3 years older than him the evils.
Because he wanted water in his bucket.
Because there was water in.his bucket.
Because he threw the water over his digger.
Because then there was no water left in his bucket.
Because he wanted to help recycle (bins at the end of our road)
Because he didn't want to say goodbye to the plastic bottles,i mlk cartons and cardboard that he wanted to throw away.
Because he didn't want his dinner (so he ate DH's identical.dinner off his plate instead!)
Because he wanted his favourite bear.
Because I.passed him.his favourite bear.

Luckily his whining sessions don't last long, and he's yet to have a purple fit, thrashing around on the ground. I know it's only a matter of time.

Oh, he's 2.5.

because I changed her nappy
because she didn't want to go into her high chair for breakfast
because I closed the kitchen door
because the cats ran away from her
because I had to get dressed and thus hand her to her father
because I tidied all the CDs away after she pulled them all out of the rack
because I left to go to work Sad

Mine's been quite happy today. Only cried for the following reasons:

  1. he'd done a poo and wanted a clean nappy. He asked me to do it, and I did it;
  2. it was nap time and he was tired but there was to be no sleeping;
  3. it was almost dinnertime and i wouldn't give him a marmite sandwich because I was waiting for the chicken risotto that he'd asked for not 5 minutes earlier to cool down; and
  4. he wanted to wear the reindeer onesie that is too small and he actually hates when he's wearing it.

Many things including me tearing a bit of toilet paper off the roll and me insisting on taking her baby out of the baby car seat in order to put her sister in.

Too shattered to relive mine, but thank you, thank you, thank you for this thread

I assume you handled these moments with perfect poise and serenity, unlike me Smile

DD aged 2 has cried because:

She wants to be with me, she has been sitting on me for the last 10 minutes not sure how much more "with me" she could get.

She wants my monies- I don't have any money to give her that she wouldn't eat.

She tried to eat money she found and I took it away.

She tried to eat toilet paper (mostly succeeded)

She wanted to open her own banana, failed and then I opened it for her..She then cried when I threw said banana away after she abandoned it on the floor for 10 minutes.

She wants to pet the dog on the tv

She stole a toy from DS and he wants it back.

I won't let her stick her hand down my shirt.

DS aged 3 has cried because:

Dad offered to take him to the store- he said he didn't want to go so Dad left without him

DD stole his toy and he wants it back. He got it back- still crying.

He wants to use the big potty instead of the little potty. Gets on the big potty but cries since what he actually wants is the little potty brought up to the bathroom to use next to the big potty. Doesn't get his wish.

He wants me to respond to him every time he says Mom. I do. However all he wants to say is Mom. I hate the word Mom..

DS1 wanted toast so I went to put the bread in the toaster. Cue full on hysterics and screaming ' no, no mummy, no'.
So I give him the bread but no, he wants toast.
So I try the toaster again, same response Confused

Never did work out what he wanted. He is 11 now and makes his own toast, thank goodness.

Yes! Time to vent and not feel like world'a worst mother!

-not being able to go to the circus. There are no circuses by me and we've never spoken about the circus, DD just had a dream she went so obviously we can go!
-mixing the sand and water together in her table and it turned to mud this making sandcastles impossible.
-not wanting a to wear a pull-up to shops as she's too big but then cried when she had an accident

And we're only a midday! Can not wait for DH to get back from footy so I can wallow in the bath for an hour!

Dd picked all the petals of a daisy then told me to fix it again [sceptical]

Cried when I told her she's not allowed to kick the baby (currently in my stomache)

My toddler got upset because he had to have a shower and hair wash. Then because he had to put pants on (he's nappy training)
Then because he didn't want to finish his cereal and wanted a chocolate roll
Then because he was told to stop pestering the baby

All before 9 am! It's like this every day!

My son is only 8 months and teething, and I know he's not doing it on purpose but today he didn't want to be picked up, cuddled, sat down, standing, lying down or left alone. And then we went to see his gran and he was all smiles and gorgeousness. What a punk!

Oh and then because I didn't know the words to a song; she'd just made it up which I thought was a fair reason for my ignorance.

Oh and because baby DS was asleep when she got up from her nap so she couldn't cuddle him.

Cute but did it really need a scream of "Noooooo tuddle DS"?
