I read MN a lot and (understandably, because it's a forum where people can have a good old moan) there's thread after thread about a partner being awful / unsupportive / generally dickish (I am sorry if you have one of those). AIBU to just stop for a minute and ask you to post 1 thing that makes yours brilliant and is just one of the reasons you love them?

I'll kick us off... DP is awsome because I hurt my shoulder at the weekend and on tuesday it was still hurting so he set up Game of Thrones on the tv in the bedroom brought me tea paracetamol and ibuprofen and then massaged it until his hands hurt.

Over to you Let's get some love in the room!

He's just lovely and being around him makes me the best version of me iykwim.
I'd be utterly lost without him.

murphys · 10/04/2014 16:11

He is my best friend.

fukkigucci · 10/04/2014 16:14

I passed my driving test at the ripe old age of 30 yesterday! DH came home with a ginormous bunch of roses for me. And joins in every time I start jumping up and down squeeling!

TawdryTatou · 10/04/2014 16:18

The biggest, strongest, warmest bear hugs in the world.
He does all the laundry and ironing for me and my dc.
He cooks.
He cleans.
He makes me snort with laughter.
He cuddles me all night.
He has a beard.
He gardens.
He's soft with the dcs and our dogs.
He's always on my side.

I don't half love him.

Scuttlebutter · 10/04/2014 16:28

He's my best friend. Love his wonderful brain, and after 17 years of marriage I still find him the most interesting person I know to talk to. And he can make me laugh so much. And he smells good. And he adores our dogs to the point of soppiness. Did I mention he's also a brilliant cook, meltingly handsome and looked after me like a queen when I had cancer? I am blessed every day I spend with him.

stopfuckingspraying · 10/04/2014 16:31

My DP makes me laugh like no other, she came round my flat the other day and cleaned my living room and bathroom whilst I prepared a meal.

She also buys me all my favourite treats when we go shopping. She's adorable and all mine

Dahlen · 10/04/2014 16:32

Aw, these are lovely. Smile

I got a little merry last week and waxed lyrical - at some length - about this Blush so I'm all gushed out. But I love that there are so many happy people about. Restores your faith in human nature and relationships.

CuntyBunty · 10/04/2014 17:38

He has a lust for life and a kind, kind heart. He tempers me and has a massive intellect and an arse like a shelf. A quirky chap who makes me melt. Especially in bed.

FrankelandFilly · 10/04/2014 17:41

My husband is wonderful. I gave birth to our first child 4 weeks ago and he has been so involved and helpful and clearly dotes on her. Unfortunately he is being deployed to Afghanistan at the end of May for 6 months and, as well as feeling very sorry for myself, I feel utterly wretched about how much he's going to miss out on with our little girl Sad

TheDoctorsNewKidneys · 10/04/2014 17:44

I have depression and anxiety and he's never failed to support me and love me and be there for me when I need a hug or a cry.

He makes me coffee and bacon sandwiches every Saturday morning without me even having to ask. He does his fair share of housework without me having to ask and he does whatever he can do make me happy.

He's wonderful! Blush

fuckertyfuckfuck · 10/04/2014 17:51

DP is amazing with my daughter, he treats her like his own.
He gets up on a Sunday with her and I love laying in bed listening to them having a catch up and a giggle Smile

mjmooseface · 10/04/2014 18:04

Reading this thread has got me all happy!

I love my husband very much. He is amazing, makes me laugh every day, is intelligent, big and strong and handsome and has a beard and is very manly but also very gentle and silly.

He ticked all my boxes and it was genuinely pretty much love at first sight! ;D

I could go on and on! Perhaps the best thing is that I can be such a b*tch sometimes and he remains patient and devoted and helps me be better.

littleballerina · 10/04/2014 18:17

Mine is just lovely inside and out.
I'm very lucky!

Onlyonamonday · 10/04/2014 18:21

Some Men should read this thread to grasp an understanding of what women really want Smile
I've been happily married for 21 years this year and he's still lovely and gorgeous
We are best friends as well as lovers
He encourages and supports me in everything ..he's strong when I'm not
We have fun and laugh
when we're not stressing about the teens Wink

HairyGrotter · 10/04/2014 18:28

My DP (husband in 5 months time!!! Squeeee) blows my mind. He treats me as his equal, adores and loves my daughter, we laugh together, he gets teary at soppy things, he cuddles me like no other, makes everything OK, handles me with patience and understanding, just wants to be loved, and so generous and giving.

He is outstanding, I am very lucky, and he makes me want to be a better person, as corny as that sounds, it's true. I cannot wait to become his wife!

wifeandmotherandlotsofother · 10/04/2014 18:35

At the grand old age of 44 I met the man who rocked my world. Every day since then he has made my life better by being in it, he is the beat of my heart and I love the bones of him. Tha gaol agom ort, mo cuisle mo chridhe

missymarmite · 10/04/2014 18:40

My DP is amazing because he believes I am beautiful and clever and sexy, and he tells me everyday. He is funny, he has a fantastic sense of humour. I laugh with him every day. He is hardworking and caring. He cooks, cleans and encourages my dreams. He is a fantastic father and step-father. He knows my moods before I do. He buys me flowers and treats. He is not perfect, but he is perfect for me. I love him.

AmericasTorturedBrow · 10/04/2014 18:48

I have my fair share of grumbles about DH but he pulled a blinder this am. I have a cold and woke up feeling wretched, last thing I remember was him giving me some paracetamol and saying he would take the day off if he didn't have xxxxmeeting. I woke up 2 hours later to a quiet house and a message from him saying "I've taken DD to work, rest up beautiful"

Bloody well done that man

lechers · 10/04/2014 19:30

He gets me, and I get him. He rounds off my sharp edges, and can calm me down. He makes me laugh when I'm cross and so on...

I moan about him loads, but I'd never be without him Grin

magoria · 10/04/2014 19:31

Mine BF is lovely.

He is happy to make me a million cups of coffee a day. Cook for me whenever I want.

He has come to mine the last month to help me rip out a down stairs toilet and put in a totally new one including tiling, plumbing etc plus all the associated shopping for bits!

parakeet · 10/04/2014 19:31

Mine is funny, interesting and kind - and is more likely to hoover the house from top to bottom than I am. After 15 years, I still fancy the pants off him too.

SoldAtAuction · 10/04/2014 20:04

I am feeling crappy today, so DH took the afternoon off, of his own volition, to come home and do the house work so I could rest.
He always has my back.

Lariflete · 10/04/2014 20:54

He is my best friend and is so protective of me. He once thought a man had a gun and was going to shoot us and he pulled me behind him to shield me.
He is the best father ever.
The only time he ever gets annoyed at me is if he thinks that I'm not looking after myself.
He's so funny, so kind and he gets up with the kids so that I can stay in bed Grin

CarmineRose1978 · 10/04/2014 20:58

I'm newly pregnant, knackered, chucking up everywhere and worried sick all the time and my DP is being an absolute gem... Cooking, cleaning, taking time off work/working from home to look after me, reassuring me about the baby, giving cuddles all the time and just generally being a rock. I adore him, he's my best mate, gorgeous, generous and brilliant.

Sandthorn · 10/04/2014 21:03

He's funny, clever, gorgeous and kind... And he thinks I am too.
