Well everyone really. On account there is not actually one hive mind and opinion,

And what you really mean when you say this is I only ever notice people who do not agree with my way of the world. So I blame a website.

Honey

With the greatest of respect, I can't understand your OP

TantrumsAndBalloons · 28/03/2014 19:29

There are people that think Mumsnet is 1 person and we must all live the same life in the exact same way.

These are the people I tend to avoid Grin

no two ways, my way and the wrong way Grin

MammaTJ · 28/03/2014 19:32

I agree HD, and eve understand you!

Newt, she is illustrating that there are all kinds of people here with all kinds of opinions. As people, we tend to only notice those who are wrong disagree with us, so we thing that that one opinion is the one expressed by all.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 28/03/2014 19:33

I think what honeydragon is talking about are posters that think mumsnet is one opinion, the mumsnet opinion.

You know what, that didnt make it any clearer did it?

Damn vodka. I will be quiet now.

MrsWembley · 28/03/2014 19:33

I know what you mean.

HoneyDragon · 28/03/2014 19:33

It's been annoying week. I don't get why comments such as

Only on Mnet do people get cross about

P&C spaces
Ear piecing babies
Tattoos (pro)
Tattoos (against)
Mnet being predominantly left wing
Mnet being predominantly right wing
Boden

It just seems that if a thread is being bias in one direction it's only on Mnet do you get that consensus and NOWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD.

OP posts:
TantrumsAndBalloons · 28/03/2014 19:34

There is nowhere else in the world.

Only here. Grin

AgentZigzag · 28/03/2014 19:34

But then you can always use a MN opinion to back up whichever view you take Smile

(if I've read your OP right and you're saying about us being individuals rather than one entity, which is used in places like the media to say we're all vipers (which is probably the only correct assumption)).

MyChemicalGerard · 28/03/2014 19:34

yes. yes indeed.

I bugs me.

There are some brilliant debates here because it's a nice corner of the Internet which although is predominantly female centric does contain some fabulous diversity. Often people don't agree on something but are interested to see the direction from which others opinions are formed.

But some others use only on Mumsnet do you get this opinion.

I don't like it and think of it as way of shutting down healthy debate, or trying to belittle a group opinion.

It's like saying, your thought and opinions are not part of the real world we live in.

OP posts:
flummoxedlummox · 28/03/2014 19:38

Well I'm certain have an opinion on One Direction.

lionheart · 28/03/2014 19:39

I understood it and have not touched a drop (yet). Smile

ilovesooty · 28/03/2014 19:39

This reminds me of Life of Brian.

"We're all individuals "
" I'm not"

Grin
TantrumsAndBalloons · 28/03/2014 19:40

"Only on Mumsnet do people get so worked up over XYZ"

"Really? I'd try getting out a bit more if I were you"
