To tell Dog owners control you fecking dogs!

I'll get flamed I don't care. I'm fed up of people letting their dogs run wild just had another dog clamour all over me when I'm walking down the street with a 'sorry' from the owner again this happens to often. Last week a dog off its lead stuck its head near my child pram.
Its simple if you can't control your dog off its lead then keep it on its lead until you get to the park.
I think I'm going to go nuclear next time :(

Dog owner here and totally agree. I think dog owners should sit a test similar to a driving test.

Grrrr, this is one of my bugbears too. I don't know if there are more out of control dogs now, or whether I'm just noticing it more because it makes me worry for my son, but it really pisses me off. 'Sorry' doesn't cut it, you irresponsible fucking freak with your fucking fur-baby. Put it on a goddamn lead or fuck the fuck off. No, it isn't endearing, it isn't adorable and you are being an anti-social fucking pest.

And don't even get me started on the junkies who have certain breeds as status symbols - the latest seems to be huskies. Whenever I see one I want to copy that scene in Trainspotting. The cunts.

Really? When I grow up (I'm 44) dog poo littered the streets, as did stray dogs. I very very rarely see dog poo now, and it must be 20 years since I last saw a stray dog. I mean a proper stray, without an owner.

Untrained dogs should be on leads until they reach a spot where they are allowed off lead. Some dogs are trained well enough to not need leads, but these are few and far between. Dog owners should work on recall and control over and above any other 'trick'.

No-one is going to flame you for wanting what is best for the dog.

Another dog owner here - and yes I hate the dog poo slalom when the idle owners don't clean it up. And don't get me started on out of control dogs...my innocent on-lead Goldie was beaten up by an out of control GSD.

I was out yesterday and there was dog poo smeared all over the pavement. It was disgusting. Had to steer a 2 year old and pushchair all around it.

Got very cross at a bunch of twats at the park the other day letting their incredibly ugly overweight dog rootle freely under the tables of people trying to have a cup of tea in peace. Their attitude was "oooh it's unreasonable not to expect dogs in a park, tee hee hee".

Some dog owners are complete self-absorbed dicks. I pity their dogs.

Glad people agree on here why are there so many people who obviously don't in real life :( especially when I'm wailing with my baby in her pram common decency surely to at least keep your dog under control near babies and kids?!
Agree with the poster about the license- you wouldn't think people would need the blindingly obvious pointing out to them about controlling and caring for their dogs but seemingly they do :(

Kendodd you have just made me very jealous, my walk to school is about 15 minutes each way, every day we walk past 20 plus piles of poo. One day I am going to take pictures and forward them to the council. What makes things worse, I live in an area where the bylaws state that all dogs must be kept on the lead, so the owners must know and just don't care.

Oops, posted too soon. What I meant to say is that even in the park, you should be aware of what your dog is up to and making sure it's not being a pest, or worse dangerous/aggressive, towards other park users (inc other dogs of course).

Can't stand it when any lovely green area in a city gets treated by some as their own personal shit pit, it's on grass so no need to pick it up. Gets really disgusting.

I find that most dog owners are responsible. most do not let their dogs jump up.

one or two though spoil it for the rest.

Head next to the pram (its pushchair now rather than carry cot Iyswim) so dogs head was inches from my baby's :( I got inbetween the dog and pram and then dog owner casually caught up with his dog with an apolgetic chuckle and 'sorry about that' fucking knob

Sadly I avoid our local park altogether now because its dog central round here but there's a botanical garden nearby so go there instead this is on our street which is a couple of roads up from the park

I agree with you my dog is a bit enthusiastic we have to walk roundfolk so he doesnt jump up to say hello and we would never have him off the lead , he loves toddlers so we cant go near prams he would have his head in it poor liitle kid would get the fright of their lives at this drooling dog in their face YANBU not everybody loves your dog keep them under control

YANBU I have a phobia of dogs ever since I was little and a huge Alsatian jumped up at me.

Thee is a lot of dog poo round here, its horrible having to dodge it.

I don't expect all parks to be dog free, but it would be nice to be able to have one that was, so I wouldn't have to avoid dogs and poo!

It makes it so much easier.

YANBU. Usually it's "he's just being friendly!" as if you are the unreasonable one for not being delighted at someone else's dog jumping up at you.

I agree completely OP.

We have all but given up on parks because of the dog poo - luckily there is one dog free park near us to we go to that one.

Last summer I was at the seaside having a picnic with the DC - our picnic bag was open next to us with most of the food still in it.

A fecking great bull-headed dog came running up, stuck it's head in the bag and slobbered all over our food. The owner sauntered over, shouted 'Tyson, get over 'ere' and kept walking. Our food was buggered and I was so fecked off, but due to the fact that the dog owner was built like a brick shit house, had a skinhead and tattoos, I didn't confront them Blush.

But yes I hate the way dog owners let their dogs run wild Angry

That sounds very sensible, LtEveDallas. Round here, the consensus amongst dog owners seems to be that if they're in a place where there are no cars, it's fine to let their dogs run around out of control. So, that's parks, footpaths, cycle paths, nature reserves, pretty much any decent-sized green space you can think of that are unpleasant to be around due to dogs running off lead and shitting everywhere.

My friends from other (more civilised) countries think this is sheer fucking madness to give animals precedence over the right of people to enjoy public spaces, and I have to say I'm inclined to agree with them.
