That's it. Why do you swear?

"Because I want to"s not allowed.

Sometimes because I'm stressed i.e: "for Fuck's sake!" Sometimes for emphasis or as part of an expression i.e: "WTF?"

AgaPanthers · 17/03/2014 01:33

Because I'm a cunt.

glastocat · 17/03/2014 01:34

You me beat me to it Maryz. Because Im fucking Irish. Grin

SallyMcgally · 17/03/2014 01:41

Because the words are expressive and funny and sound as if you mean it. I hate it when people say 'she's in a tizzwazz' or ' I've worked my socks off'. It's so fucking twee and mincing.

MusicalEndorphins · 17/03/2014 01:52

I rarely swear and neither do most people that I know.

Because I bloody love it. Smile

MultipleMama · 17/03/2014 13:26

Because they're the only appropriate words when you stub your fucking toe on that twat of a coffee table Grin

I swear because I can and to me it's just normal. I don't swear in front of family or my children, but around friends I have a filthy mouth. I don't mind if my kids grow up to swear as long as they're polite to people and respect family.

I also speak 5 languages and it's fun to swear in all of them Grin.

Because I aspire to one day reach the dizzy heights occupied by Malcolm Tucker: 'Come the fuck in or fuck the fuck off', 'What is this, Tinker Tailor Soldier Cunt?' etc and regular frequent practice is my only hope of getting there.

montysma1 · 17/03/2014 13:48

It stops my head exploding.

I would either be in prison or dead from an exploded head if I couldn't bastarding swear.

neolara · 17/03/2014 13:54

I'm sure I saw a programme on the TV which said that swearing came from a different part of your brain than normal speech and some swearing is almost involuntary - just sort of pops out at sweary moments e.g. hitting finger with hammer etc.
