Could the car owners be away for the weekend? on a walking holiday, obviously
Can't believe the cheek of shouty man, I agree you should report the incident on 101.

Sallyingforth · 16/02/2014 11:55

Certainly OP you need to take pictures of the cars and bollards in case there is damage.
Also you should be prepared for the car owner/s to knock on your door very early in the morning just to be bloody awkward.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/02/2014 11:56

I would put the bollards down while you are out, that means the cars can be removed and the bollards raised when you get back and are available to let them out if still there. I can see bin lady isn't the nicest, but thnk doing this would make you the bigger person.

The main thing is that the cars are moved, if this can be done without further confrontation surely that is better.

PorkPieandPickle · 16/02/2014 12:03

Weallhavewings if she leaves the bollards down whole ages out that would also allow cars back in though?! OP could come back to find a worse problem!!

OddFodd · 16/02/2014 12:04

But they've had plenty of warning WeAll. And chosen to ignore each and every one. What if the cars are still there when mrsdc gets back? Everything gets very messy - I can see some of them asking if they can park there when the OP goes out on future occasions.

This is much cleaner.

EduCated · 16/02/2014 12:06

Yeah, I think it's reached the point where you have to be absolutely hard line on this.

AlpacaLypse · 16/02/2014 12:11

Blatherskite · 16/02/2014 12:12

I can imagine the op coming back to more cars not less if she leaves the bollards down while out!

Mr Shouty is entitled enough to think he can yell at them for daring to stop him parking his car on land that does not belong to him. I'm sure he'd have no qualms about parking up there and making himself a nuisance if given the chance

AlpacaLypse · 16/02/2014 12:12

Squeeeeee! I've so missed blank posting! Thank you thank you thank you...

Farrowandbawl · 16/02/2014 12:14

I can see him parking over the bollards themselves to be honest.

Once the cars are out they need to stay out, so having the bollards down, unless the owners (the op) themselves are going in or out, will cause no end of trouble.

Jux · 16/02/2014 12:15

Warn the police that there could be trouble. It just covers your back.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday and don't get disturbed in the evening either (or early morning!).

VegetariansTasteLikeChicken · 16/02/2014 12:18

We used to have bollards at the place I rented that you put up with a key. People would just drive over them Angry don't be surprised if they do this if you leave them parked there while you go out

FutTheShuckUp · 16/02/2014 12:19

I'm confused how anyone can drive over bollards? Are they not like solid pillars?

Farrowandbawl · 16/02/2014 12:21

If the bollards are collapseable like the OP, when they are down you can drive over them and park over them if down long enough.

I think you are thinking of the solid concrete ones Fut.

Fifyfomum · 16/02/2014 12:21

I'm glad you've gone out for the day. I imagine it will be Monday morning before all the cars have gone. I would see if DH can go to work a bit earlier on Monday and then just hide in the house until 10am and make them late for work before attending to something in the garden so they know you are up.

But I'm a bit mean like that.

whois · 16/02/2014 12:22

Yeah wouldn't this really damage the car? Unless you had a massive pick up type monster with bars on the front?

whois · 16/02/2014 12:23

Oh right x post. Well yeah obvs, so you just never leave them down.

Wow, have just caught up with this again. What a drama. I hope it gets sorted later today without too much drama.

these kinds. People literally drove over them if we left them up to keep them off our space. You hit it with a car and it just collapses. People are cunts and if they cant see a bollard how the fuck did they park? And what if there was a kid there?

TidyDancer · 16/02/2014 13:53

Oh bugger. Still no update! Get thee home stat!

AcrossthePond55 · 16/02/2014 13:53

See, I thought they'd be putting in those steel bollards that retract into the ground & raise up by remote control. No one's backing over those babies!

I'm afraid to google penguin bollards. I'm not sure I want to be followed around by a flock of penguins!
