How scary and nasty. What does he think the police will do? You have asked him to stop parking on your land. He hasn't got a leg to stand on.

IBlameThePenguins · 15/02/2014 21:48

What's going on??? i'm an islander and in need of some excitement!!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/02/2014 21:49

This is the thread that keeps giving. It's great to read but I imagine it's quite worrying being there so I hope you're ok op.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 15/02/2014 21:49

oh I hope he does call the police, Mrsdc

Would love to see him with egg all over face

twat

BinkieWoo · 15/02/2014 21:50

I read that as MrDC was going to call the police if the man carried on shouting at him. I may be wrong though.

Mrsdavidcaruso · 15/02/2014 21:51

Antler they only had 2 for a while when she thought she could park outside my house when that got sorted she moved it - although sometimes she would park in her partners space

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 15/02/2014 21:52

I spose the thing is that they realise now they've been taken for mugs, & they're clearly the kind of people that should never happen to Hmm so it has to be somebody else's fault & they're taking it out on you.

But I'm sure they're smart enough to realise that any threatening behaviour or criminal damage will cause them trouble in the long run

Sit tight

CaffeinatedKitten · 15/02/2014 21:53

I am delurking, firstly to say I need penguin bollards in my life, and secondly to say I think you've been way more tactful than I ever could have been in a similar position. Enjoy the chips:o

WeAreDetective · 15/02/2014 21:54

Just got round to googling penguin bollards.....

all this fuss over parking. i sort of feel sorry for them though weren't they told they had parking spaces when they took the lease.

i dunno

i do like ryde though, is the funny dr who shop still there?

Mrsdavidcaruso · 15/02/2014 21:54

Binkie yes DH was going to call the police as he was really shouting

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 15/02/2014 21:54

I would phone the police anyway OP on their non-emergency number and let them know that you have had a neighbour spout abuse at you on your doorstep.

At least then, if you need to phone again, it will have been flagged up already. I also think cctv might be a good idea.

Mrsdavidcaruso · 15/02/2014 21:56

South yes it is I used to volunteer in the RSPCA shop next door and we go to the Catholic Church just up from there

OP posts:
Pipbin · 15/02/2014 21:56

Oh yes, I think you are right, Binkie, and it was OP's DH that was going to call the police.

Shenanagins · 15/02/2014 21:56

I am delurking to say that I have loved this thread right from the start. Can't wait to hear how bin lady gets on!

VivaLeBeaver · 15/02/2014 21:57

Is it wrong to be secretly hoping bin woman sees this thread and comes on here?

AngelaDaviesHair · 15/02/2014 21:57

They can swear all they like, there's no arguing with a bollard. Heh heh.

i'm glad the dr who shop is still there!

inabeautifulplace · 15/02/2014 22:00

Seriously, you have to engage with their landlord. Those people are all paying for something that you have taken away from them. Without the landlord involved, you are the person they will blame, which isn't fair since it wasn't you that deceived them.

hamptoncourt · 15/02/2014 22:00

I agree with fairenuff, have been thinking the same thing. OP you could maybe have a word with the police to put them in the picture and explain that things may get nasty/have already got nasty.

Peekingduck · 15/02/2014 22:04

"Seriously, you have to engage with their landlord. Those people are all paying for something that you have taken away from them. Without the landlord involved, you are the person they will blame, which isn't fair since it wasn't you that deceived them."
This was all dealt with in advance. The letting agent gave them notice to vacate the spaces and has dealt with the issue.
Fingers crossed there isn't too much aggro, you don't need it Op.

OddFodd · 15/02/2014 22:04

I would feel sorry for them SEA if they weren't being horrible and abusive to the OP.

And I suspect that if they hadn't been such utter gits to her in the first place, she may not have even bought the land. You reap what you sow and all that ...

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 15/02/2014 22:06

Actually OP hasn't taken anything off anyone. LL has sold his tenants something that wasn't even his to begin with.
