Yorkshireman flees jail because it is in Lancashire

I suppose that is an assertive decision...

It is cold, and it is wet. 2 very important considerations!

SPsMrLoverManSHABBA · 12/02/2014 20:54

Nowt right with it either

Grin

Yorkshire lass ere

Stinklebell · 12/02/2014 20:55

It is cold, and it is wet

Yes, but so's Yorkshire Wink

gobbynorthernbird · 12/02/2014 20:56

There's everything wrong with Lancashire. It's on the wrong side of the Pennines.

HanSolo · 12/02/2014 20:57

No stinkle- there's a reason they put cotton in Lancs- yorks is dry by comparison! Grin

TomaszSchafernaker · 12/02/2014 20:58

It has as it's icon a red rose. clearly White is superior

morethanpotatoprints · 12/02/2014 20:58

I'd rather be married to a Lancashire lad than a Yorkshire man.
I know this is a generalisation but they tend to be bombastic.
They shout a lot, know everything and have to be right.
Very in bred too Grin

SauvignonBlanche · 12/02/2014 20:59

YABVU, there's everything right with Lancashire. The stupid gut obviously had an inferiority complex, what with being from the wrong side of the Pennines. Wink

Sirzy · 12/02/2014 20:59

He probably just felt inferior compared to the lancastrians in there!

HermioneWeasley · 12/02/2014 21:02

Lancashire is fine, absolutely fine. I mean, it's no yorkshire. I don't recall it being voted the number 3 tourist destination in the world, but it's fine, really.

SPsMrLoverManSHABBA · 12/02/2014 21:03

They shout a lot, know everything and have to be right

^^So sexist! Us Yorkshire women are like that too

Grin
Seff · 12/02/2014 21:23

I'm glad he's gone, don't want any of them Yorkshire types on our side! Wink Plus, Kirkham is pretty close to Blackpool, which is admittedly a bit of a shithole, so can't really blame him!

Pretty funny though.

I only had one condition for my wedding flowers, that there were no white roses anywhere!!

RudolphtheRedknowsraindear · 12/02/2014 22:21

I set the same flowers rule Seff! Lancashire, God's own county!

exleodensian · 12/02/2014 22:25

Lancashire is pretty close to perfection, seeing as it is right next to Yorkshire.

DowntonTrout · 12/02/2014 22:28

Sounds like a sensible chap to me.

evertonmint · 12/02/2014 22:30

DH wanted white roses at our wedding (nowt to do with Yorkshire, he's from down south, but just loves white roses) I refused to carry them, and my dad and brother had red rose buttonholes. DH was the only member of the wedding party with a white rose. Serves him right for having such a stupid favourite flower Grin

The only good things to come out of Yorkshire are a) pudding (I will concede on its geniusness here) and b) the road to Lancashire. Smile

ClaudiusGalen · 12/02/2014 22:33

Lancashire is wonderful. We speak right proper as well.

BobFlemming · 13/02/2014 01:08

Yorkshire. Where men are men and women are too.

la la la Lancashire till I die.

RealAleandOpenFires · 13/02/2014 03:06

Eve...and if the Yorkie puds are flat then they're Lancashire puds?. Wink

Kytti · 13/02/2014 04:07

I think you'll find that YORKSHIRE is God's own. Grin

YORKSHIRE YORKSHIRE YORKSHIRE!

You're all just jealous 'cos we're all just brilliant.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 13/02/2014 08:40

Lancashire? All mucky doorsteps and "you'll have had your tea".

Ephedra · 13/02/2014 09:42

My mum is from Yorkshire and I was born there (but raised elsewhere), I currently live in Lancashire and my mum has said that if I develop a Lancashire accent she will disown me! Grin

DeWe · 13/02/2014 09:51

I knew as soon as I saw this it had to be Kirkham prison. I think they average about 2 escapes a week. I don't think most of them have an excuse as imaginative as that one though.

One pair of escapees were caught hitchhiking a short distance away. They got in gladly when the chap stopped for them, and failed to notice that it was one of the guards who promptly took them back. Grin

Fleta · 13/02/2014 10:00

The only good things about Lancashire are the roads out.

I'm with the prisoner Grin

FRambridge · 13/02/2014 16:30

I heard a saying once:

Strong in'th arm and thick in'th 'ead
Yorkshire Born and Yorkshire Bred

Made me laugh as I'm a Lancashire Lass who has a couple of Yorkie mates. I say it to wind em up haha
