to want everyone to stop using "naice"?

It's a long running joke that really isn't funny anymore. and never was

To me it's as annoying as the phrase "did you mean to sound so rude?"

Finally "yoni" seems to have gone forever but this is lingering.

Note to anyone who uses it - it's not funny and it's certainly not original.

It's very cliquey.

FloweryFeatureWall · 26/01/2014 23:34

starrychime · 26/01/2014 23:37

I like it! Conveys the nuance well I think Smile

MammaTJ · 26/01/2014 23:47

I have never used the word naice but might start now!

BumPotato · 26/01/2014 23:48

What gossipyfishwife said.

Naice.

MrTumblesCrackWhore · 26/01/2014 23:48

I've been on here on and off for years and still don't know what yoni stands for. Not a fan of 'naice' myself but I like the fact it is part of mumsnet's language. I don't see the cliquey thing so much - there's a lot of women on here who, for various reasons, feel isolated, lonely etc, in RL, and mumsnet offers a forum where they can feel part of a group, but one that anyone can join. The only cliquey thing on here are those nobdie threads - only cliquey to me because I have no idea what they are about, but then I haven't really taken the time to find out either.

HoneyDragon · 26/01/2014 23:48

Of course I shall. It's absolutely correct that an entire Internet forum should revolve around your wishes. Anything else?

LadyBeagleEyes · 26/01/2014 23:50

You don't sound very naice OP.
I'll use whatever words I want thank you.

K8Middleton · 26/01/2014 23:51

Who are you?

Lweji · 26/01/2014 23:52

To me it's as annoying as the phrase "did you mean to sound so rude?"

Why is this annoying to you? Are you regularly the recipient of it?

PedlarsSpanner · 26/01/2014 23:54

Well now I've got an earworm, thanks K8

Whooooo are yooo, who who, who whoooo, da da da da da da

etc

Justholdthesmile · 26/01/2014 23:56

Why is this annoying to you? Are you regularly the recipient of it?

Nope.

I just think it's a stupid phrase. If someone answers back - Yes I did actually mean to sound so rude. Then what?

May I be the first to actually say YABU?

I like "naice", it works.

maras2 · 26/01/2014 23:57

Yoni is the Sanskrit counterpart of Lingum. Ie. women and men's sex organs. For some reason some posters got themselves into a bit of a do recently and started using them as one would use ' bum willy fanny '. As these are hilarious words.

Justholdthesmile · 26/01/2014 23:58

Who are you?

I'm Justholdthefuckingsmile, who the fuck are you? Grin

On reflection, YANBU to want people to stop saying this but YABtotallyU if you expect them to stop just because you want them to.

Bored yet?

Justholdthesmile · 27/01/2014 00:00

That's not very naice of you.

Expressing an non sexist/racist/ageist opinion makes me a not very nice person?

OK then.

OP posts:
Justholdthesmile · 27/01/2014 00:01

Bewitched well exactly. I said want, not expect

I don't expect anyone on a forum to do anything.

Bored? - Why not just come out and say it.

Bitchy thread.

I've seen similar threads to this and they've been taken in a lighthearted way.

Perhaps you need to put 'lighthearted' in the title in future OP. Seems it's getting that way on here these days.
