Onsies to go to the shops?

DH saw three people in town in onsies today. What is going on? I can only deduce that I'm getting old..

Love them for indoors, but outdoors, NO, they are not a good look!
More suited to bedtime imo

Ridiculous, like people wearing their pyjamas, just put some clothes on! It's horrible, I think they think it's cute or ironic or something, I think it just looks scummy

Makes 2 of us wonder, some of them are very obviously pyjamas. Others are more borderline so maybe, but seriously, have we actually got so lazy that we can no longer be bothered to get dressed to go outside? and believe me I am lazy, with bells on

A friend told me that downtown Crewe is awash with onesies for daytime wear. No men yet, but perhaps the onesie is the modern day version of the shell suit, and it will only be a matter of time?

I laugh when I see them. I am not really discrete either about it. They look really lazy. Wouldn't even call them tramps, most tramps have pride in their appearance... And yes I have seen a couple of blokes.
I think it's really sad when you see these lazy people in their onsies on the school run at 3:30.

Stop calling them onsies. It refers to an all-in-one, not an on/off thing.

They're like giant babygros. It's only a matter of time before people start wearing nappies under them.

My neighbour paid £130 for his, he says he will be buggered if he is going to just wear it in the house I wouldnt describe him as a chav but he is an orange twat

I don't get the onesie thing. The whole idea (I think) is that they are comfortable. I had to get one for a friends hen do onesie party (purely indoors) so I thought it was a good opportunity to see what all the fuss was about.

My over-riding impression was that it's just awkward to go to the loo in. And there was no additional comfort benefits over and above lounge pants and jersey top that I pretty much live in

What's the point of them?? Genuine question.

There's lots and lots of full grown men in our town who wear them all the time - people have taken to photographing them and putting them on one of those Spotted pages on Facebook.

I wouldn't wear one out and about. If someone was nipping into the corner shop early AM with a onsie or pyjamas on it wouldn't bother me. But to walk around town in them as if they are fashionable for every day wear does irritate me a little bit.

My DS is 4 and has a few really cute and lovely onsies, furry ones with lovely patterns on or ears on the hood - I let him wear them if we are nipping to tesco or also they are really cosy for wellyboot walks! I wouldn't myself though !

I bought one because my house is freezing I only wear it indoors and only when it gets below zero. And its a bloody nightmare exposing your top half to go to the loo when its that cold! It does the job of keeping me warm, but its not a good look!

I saw a bloke before Christmas.he also was obviously not wearing anything under it.

At 4 is different, fancy dress to the shops is fine at four..

Serve him right if he got caught in the zip then ohfuckery.....

I saw a man in Ikea yesterday, he was wearing a unicorn onesie. Even my kids stopped and stared.
