Despite being the biggest England fan ever.

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 03/12/2013 21:18

Why? Confused

...and I'm not English btw.

ValleyOfRocksWitch · 03/12/2013 21:20

I always support Germany in world cups despite being English.

I had a crush on Jurgen klinsmann years ago and I blame that.

flowery · 03/12/2013 21:20

Bit of a strange comment if you're not going to explain why..

squoosh · 03/12/2013 21:25

So they have a proper challenge?

LineRunner · 03/12/2013 21:26

I suppose it might keep Wayne Rooney awake this time.

BitOutOfPractice · 03/12/2013 21:27

Explain please!

I'm much more interested in my club nowadays. Very disillusioned with England

Also always support Holland

Bowlersarm · 03/12/2013 21:28

Didn't anyone post on your first thread Soul?

JaquelineHyde · 03/12/2013 21:30

No not the group of death, but also I don't want them to get a group that the media can claim is a piece of piss.

A nice middle of the road group will do thanks very much.

Salmotrutta · 03/12/2013 21:32

There's another thread?

soul2000 · 03/12/2013 21:37

The reason being: 1. we are going to at best get though a "EASY" Group playing shit football. 2. Finally if we are shown up for what we are a group of players who can't put two passes together when up against proper teams.

If England get beaten in the three group games, finally the FA will wake up and realise something has got to be done at Academy Level ( GREG DYKE IS TRYING) but is up against a brick wall .

Frankly we have not got a chance in hell against any team who can keep the ball in that heat or humidity in Brazil. We really should use this Tornument for giving the likes of Ross Barkley, Luke Shaw and even take a risk with "MORRISON" . In the long term this could be good for English Football.

P.S. when the Tornument starts i wont be thinking like this, i will just want us to win somehow.

Salmotrutta · 03/12/2013 21:42

You say "we" Soul.

Are you in the team then?

pointyfangs · 03/12/2013 21:43

Won't happen. Holland always get the group of death. England are perfectly safe. Sad

soul2000 · 03/12/2013 21:45

I say we as a England Fan. When the Tournament starts i will change and start looking at those World Cup wall charts that i have been doing since 1982.

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 03/12/2013 21:47

Yes pointy but they usually get through!

soul2000 · 03/12/2013 21:49

Holland lose on "PENALTIES" they are worse than England at Penalties.

OP posts:
NoComet · 03/12/2013 21:51

I'd love us to be in an utterly impossible group, the sooner all the home teams are knocked out, the less fucking football there is on TV and radio.

Tennis Rules!

PointyChristmasFairyWand · 03/12/2013 21:52

Practice maybe. But after Euro 2012 I've become a bit sceptical. They were so utterly cocky and utterly crap.

Soul last time it came to penalties they won. Somehow. But you have a point. I still think they're going to get group of death.

ArgyMargy · 03/12/2013 21:52

I'm with you, Soul. An early bath would be so much easier than some false hopes. And the time difference will surely make it all quite tedious.

Bowlersarm · 03/12/2013 21:53

I actually agree with to, OP (I think!)

My DS is in the system to be a pro footballer. It is really, really tough being able to make it over here. I would love for more English players to play in the premiership/championship. The Clubs bring boys in from all over the world at age 16. You have to be exceptional to make it as a footballer in this country; not just one of the best in the country, you have to be one of the best in the world.

PointyChristmasFairyWand · 03/12/2013 21:53

No, Starball, long track speed skating rules Grin. And the Dutch are very very good at it. It is my favourite bit of the Winter Olympics, and next year I am going to record all the events and watch them in the dead of night when my utterly disinterested DH and DDs are asleep. Football is fourth best after speed skating, equestrianism and fencing.

PointyChristmasFairyWand · 03/12/2013 21:54

PS - sorry about the mid-thread Christmas name change. I've been meaning to do it for a few days...

BitOutOfPractice · 03/12/2013 21:58

Oh god Pointy I know. I am so disillusioned with them. They were an embarrassment. AS they were in the last world cup...

BitOutOfPractice · 03/12/2013 22:00

That's the England football team. Not the Dutch speed skaters who I agree are very good. I'd love to go and see skaters race on the canals one day.

I'll have my range hat and Dutch strip on next year. Hup hup Holland!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/12/2013 22:00

Range = orange

dreamingbohemian · 03/12/2013 22:02

I'm just glad France are through. For the entertainment value, not the football Wink

I think YABU because a GoD will just become the excuse if England do poorly and so no major changes will be made
