To be FURIOUS at Waitrose?

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 18:09

I am disgusted and appalled and my evening is ruined.

Having purchased my Waitrose Essentials thin and crispy cheese and ham Pizza I came home expected an easy tea.

I have just got the pizza out and gone to lift the label where it states clearly "peel here". It doesn't peel! Nothing nada. I have NO ACCESS TO THE COOKING INSTRUCTIONS. Angry

I am now having to wing it. I have had to put the oven on and recklessly just pick a temperature and monitor the pizza.

This pizza is meant to be eaten by my children fgs. What if I haven't cooked it properly? Waitrose should think of the children. Sad

I still have the label. In all its stuck together glory. I am going to write to the national press about this and I may sue.

How could they do this to me? I hate it when bad things happen to good people? Sad

AIBU to start some sort of campaign?

Yes. They need counselling. So I've heard. I have no experience of this sort of trauma as we don't have a Waitrose near us. I have to do with Morrisons so obviously have a stronger constitution.

intitgrand · 01/11/2013 19:53

Leave the bastards!

cjel · 01/11/2013 20:13

I have been so sad to read you post HD, I think that you should all have counselling - paid for by waitrose. I can't believe this has happened and urge you not to let this lie, LTB. YOu don't have to put up with this sort of treatment and there are better people than me along soon to help you. Stay strong for you poor dcs.Flowers

katese11 · 01/11/2013 20:35

Never since the First Great Western snub have i seen anything so shocking and heartwrenching on mn.

It's discrimination, against you as a woman. A man would have tools to open the label properly. Waitrose cannot be allowed to get away with this!!

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 01/11/2013 20:40

Oh hun.

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 20:42
Sad

Dh was flummoxed too. It's a travesty, withholding information that I had paid for.

And, sorry for drip feeding, they

HAD NO LIDS FOR MY FREE COFFEE TODAY!!!!

They had ran out. My entire Cappuccino experience was ruined. And dangerous. At any moment some could have spilled.

Terrortree · 01/11/2013 20:45

And you have taken the risk of feeding this ready made pizza, potentially charcoal infused, to your children?

YOUR CHILDREN!

Can someone call Social Services, pronto please.

KittensoftPuppydog · 01/11/2013 20:48

Flowers Please don't let this put you off pizza in the future.

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 20:52

Terror

I did Sad

I deserve to be flames Sad

I think soupy should share some of the blame as she never came back and stated what shade of brown. I had my Pantone book ready and everything.

You think non peely pizza is bad? A couple of days ago Waitrose emailed me to say 'pop along, buy 6 bottles of wine and/or champagne and get 25% off'. The Bastards emailed again today to say 'Oh sorry, but actually this offer isn't on at your local store'. Shock

Outrage. Utter outrage!

GobbolinoCat · 01/11/2013 20:56

Honey

Just to let you know as a few of us have had this problem I am sending this thread to them, to see what they say.

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 20:58

That's a point. My Waitrose have the offer one. But before it came on removed the only wine I buy from them. Bastards.

OP posts:
DameDeepRedBetty · 01/11/2013 20:59

Hah! MY Waitrose have stopped selling Quorn Bacon flavoured rashers.

Bastards.

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 21:01

Gobbolino, Good job I didn't do Cunting Waitrose in the title then Grin

Do it. I've had ANOTHER bloody go. I stuck it flat to the kitchen bench and still couldn't separate them. It's like some kind of sick torture now. Hmm

Your poor children. And poor you, of course. This is an OUTRAGE.

TwitTwooShoe · 01/11/2013 21:01

And, of course,

Mummyoftheyear · 01/11/2013 21:06

!?!

GobbolinoCat · 01/11/2013 21:11

Every one knows how frustrating plastic packaging is. Its been done to death by comics and we all know its the elderly and those weak of hand who have the problems with it.

So I can imagine them getting this pizza, looking at the innocuous packaging, relishing the easy opening;experience.

Then thinking, " Now where are the cooking instructions". And so the hunt begins, and the slow descendent into maddness....

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 21:13

It's the arrow that's the worst. Pointing to a place that is unpeelable. Mocking you, cruelly.

Someone somewhere has been paid lots of money to create that.

MoonlightandRoses · 01/11/2013 21:30

I'm afraid it's a YABU from me - honestly, all this helplessness. In my day we didn't need all these directions, we just figured it out for ourselves - tsk.

Next you'll be complaining that that the Immac you bought didn't have a 'not to be used on babies' warning.Wink

thistlelicker · 01/11/2013 22:03

I hope u have had plenty ofWine to deal with the trauma while you compose email to waitrose/daily fail/take a break and the news of the world !!!

"My hell because of waitrose pizza, it made me fumming, and enraged my kids when I have then a hamwich for supper"

Grin
TSSDNCOP · 01/11/2013 22:19

I cook everything at 200 too. Except on Chrsitmas day when the temperature seems to drop. Explain that, I dare ye.

Hassled · 01/11/2013 22:23

How long are your fingernails? You've been biting them again, haven't you? That's where you're going wrong, you see - it's a well known fact that Waitrose customers have the sort of fingernails that can peel things.
