To be FURIOUS at Waitrose?

I am disgusted and appalled and my evening is ruined.

Having purchased my Waitrose Essentials thin and crispy cheese and ham Pizza I came home expected an easy tea.

I have just got the pizza out and gone to lift the label where it states clearly "peel here". It doesn't peel! Nothing nada. I have NO ACCESS TO THE COOKING INSTRUCTIONS. Angry

I am now having to wing it. I have had to put the oven on and recklessly just pick a temperature and monitor the pizza.

This pizza is meant to be eaten by my children fgs. What if I haven't cooked it properly? Waitrose should think of the children. Sad

I still have the label. In all its stuck together glory. I am going to write to the national press about this and I may sue.

How could they do this to me? I hate it when bad things happen to good people? Sad

AIBU to start some sort of campaign?

Kundry I do that too! Drives my husband to distraction, but since been landed with an electric fan oven, everything goes in at 200.

I miss cooking with gas.

And I'm a crap cook.

StealthPolarBear · 01/11/2013 18:34

calm down dear it's only a pizza

Sallystyle · 01/11/2013 18:34

Be careful.

I have been throwing up for days. Really think it's because I just threw a pizza into the over and took it out when it looked done.

MiconiumHappens · 01/11/2013 18:35

FGS no wonder we're referred to as a nest of vipers. This woman needs support (and probably wine).

I think you should leave the bastard (Waitrose).

I am of the chuck it in the oven and hope camp too.

witchremix · 01/11/2013 18:39

Haha OP, I think waitrose own pizzas don't have cooking instructions because I had the exact same problem last week. I read the label about 5 times looking for them! Made me right nervous!

But the pizza came out fine after about 10 minutes in the end!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 01/11/2013 18:39

tis extremely serious and were I am DM journalist I would offer you £££ to have your story on the front page no less. but only the sad faces were sad enough and perhaps a child was on life support after eating the wing cooked pizza however, I am not so just cook and eat, cook and eat. farewell cruel world

LTB

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 18:41

Stealth Shock it is a Waitrose pizza.

As far as I can see Waitrose have failed their contractual obligation.

It clearly states "peel here". You cannot peel there. Ergo they fucked up at the first hurdle.

Shame on you Waitrose. Shame on you.

thistlelicker · 01/11/2013 18:49

Honey do u need to see your gp?Wink

ClayDavis · 01/11/2013 18:52

You're feeding you're children at this time in the evening? Shouldn't they have been fed ages ago and off to bed now?

PennySillin · 01/11/2013 18:54

Well if it says peel here and it does not peel that is false advertising! I would get in touch with trading standards. This is not good enough. Good luck my friend, you have a dangerous evening ahead of you!

Honey

How funny only the other day I was also wrestling with a plastic peel back label trying to find the bloody cooking instructions what has happened to good old putting them on the back?!

GobbolinoCat · 01/11/2013 19:03

Precious I had to do that, ie read the thing backwards through the back of where it was peeled from.

difficultpickle · 01/11/2013 19:06

OP you need to take a picture of yourself and your family holding the uncooked pizza and unreadable cooking instructions whilst doing The Sad Face and email it to the DM. Guaranteed page 7 exposure Grin

MiconiumHappens · 01/11/2013 19:10

Also please think of us slumming it at Sainsbos. When you peel back the plastic wrapper of the basics range pizzas all the cheese goes with it ConfusedAngryConfused

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 19:12

Thistlelicker

Yes I have already called my GP, and instructed them to be on standby in case of any signs pizza poisoning.

JohnnyUtah · 01/11/2013 19:31

I only read the thread to recommend a hamwidge instead.

Gutted I didn't get there first

Gutted

Think of my chiiiiildren

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2013 19:38

I don't think Waitrose sell hamwidges

My children appear to be ok thus far. Although they are showing perfectly normal signs of loudness and irrationality? Should I be concerned by this?
