It's as if people just cannot stand the fact she can bake and she's pretty. And she's not even smiley and apologetic for it! Cheeky mare

I don't give two fucks what she looks like and haven't mentioned her looks at all. But as has been pointed out countless times, it is a baking show and if what she produces looks like a child made it then you question if she should be in the final.

I think we should merge the three finalists into one über baker. Ruby's skills re tasty sweet stuff, Kimberly re tasty savoury stuff and Francis to make it all look amazing.

That fact she is a messy cook annoys me, not interested in what she eats or how she looks.

Ruby = crap cook (relative to the other contestants) & beautiful

Ruby has won loads of the blind competitions. She obviously produces good stuff.
I really like her.
I think Ruby should win, then Kimberly, then Frances. Kimberly can be overconfident and she makes mistakes, Frances should remember the stuff she bakes has to actually taste nice not just look like a work of art.
It is all in the editing and we cannot actually taste what is produced. Which is surely what is important.
Who was the young lad from Manchester who won the year of "evil" Brendan (edited to show nasty glances and smug grins)? Dh and I were shocked he won, thought it should have been the scruffy bloke, but he obviously just had something, some flair or whatever.

Think that is what Ruby has, natural flair.

Ruby is probably good at a lot of things and may have been brought up to feel she musn't show off. It can make you very self-deprecating. But then again, this is all just meaningless speculation about the personality of someone we don't even know.

I too have a face which looks like a broadcast of my feelings in 20 foot high neon letters. Now I know why everyone always immediately disliked me. I never knew it was so alarmingly annoying for other people to see.

God, my dh and my mates tease me mercilessly about my expressive face. I pull some right faces. And I am guilty of being self deprecating.
Unfortunately I am neither 21 nor beautiful.
Though I do bake tasty but shite looking cakes.

It's all just very British I think! I think a lot of the sorry to use the phrase haters are jealous. Never in a million years would they admit to that.

I think I would find her annoying regardless. I found Howard annoying.

See, I don't think plodder at all. I think natural gift but haphazard, messy style.

And I do have to say one thing, it is perfectly possible to find something/someone annoying/objectionable without feeling jealous. That always get wheeled out on the 4x4 threads (see what I did there???).

We can all possess opinions that vary, we don't have to agree. The old jealous line is a bit lazy imo.

She is pretty, undoubtedly so. Especially when shes not pulling the silly faces. She has lovely clear skin, BUT her bakes on last episode were appalling and she has had more shockers thsn most. Gbbo is about the whole package looks and taste (the cakes not contestants) and on that basis even though I am team Frances, Kimberly should win.

Oh she was lucky last week, very definitely. And I loved Beca.
But those macaroons with whopping great slabs of stilton in were awful. And that fake banana shite? ugh.

Yanbu! I like Ruby and I'm pretty appalled at all the negative comments. She's only 20 and has done brilliantly on great British bake off. For her age she is incredibly talented. Sad that people feel the need to put her down.

I think Kimberley is much prettier than Ruby. She's got fabulous skin and teeth and a smile that could stop traffic.

It's the faux 'I'm not very good' schtick that gets on my tits. Of course she thinks and knows she's good - she's in the final FFS. People who cultivate an air of ineptitude are really irritating. I also find the fact that her apron looks like she's been working in a slaughterhouse fairly off-putting.

I do wonder how much the directors shots have influenced the perception of Ruby - as with many "reality" type shows we often only see what the directors want us to see. But then I'm a big sceptic!

I would have liked to see her confidence grow and flourish over the series - seems a shame she's got all the way to final - and the judges believe she deserves her place but she still seems so uncertain.

Or should I say she comes across as being uncertain.

Typical of this country to build someone up and then kick their ass (have never seen programme)
