I just heard in my room that my husband was saying 'stupid' as a small voice while he was cooking alone.

Was he swearing?

No, it's not swearing.

But it's a word I would be very careful about using. For example, I would never call a person 'stupid'. It's very demeaning.

So, maybe your husband has the same mindset as me - be very careful about how you use the word 'stupid'.

It's an insult. Insults are not always swear words, DD can be very insulting without a single obscenity.
