to feel positively evangelical about electronic cigarettes?

I was reading the AIBU thread about the husband vaping in the house with a newborn. I was struck by the passionate testimonials from former smokers, saying they couldn't have done it without e-cigs. I had tried a puff one of those things that look like a cigarette and was underwhelmed. But I didn't know about the more advanced set ups where you can fill them up with your flavour of choice. Anyway, I was intrigued. I smoked a pack a day for 25 years, and never quit more than a few months at a time, no matter which methods I tried.

nb84 encouraged me to give it a try and told me what to buy to get started.

I ordered a starter kit that night. It arrived the next day and I fell in love. I have three of them, now (one always charging, one near to hand, and one in my purse ready to go) and eight different flavours of the juice.

I don't want to smoke cigarettes any more. I like this better. It tastes really good. It feels good. And it doesn't stink. My hands, clothing, and breath don't reek anymore. I don't have to keep going outside. I don't have to feel like a smelly pariah. My husband can't smell it even when I'm sitting right next to him.

And I don't have to try and not think about the fact that my mother died of cancer after spending her last decade debilitated by emphysema.

And instead of paying £8 a day for fags, I can buy a week's worth of juice for £10. The hardware was less than £20 to get started and will require only £10 a month going forward. Of course, I can spend more. Many people geek out on it as a hobby because the gadgets are fun and constantly improving.

I'm not worried about putting on weight like people usually do when giving up the cancer sticks. In fact, I snack less. I no longer crave sweets. I would normally nibble all day, especially Haribo sweets. I don't want them anymore because I am tasting a bunch of sweet flavours all day long.

I'm so happy that I want to tell everyone - every smoker and everyone who loves a smoker - about it. Grin

I think you'd probably be ok on 6mg liquid SassySpice but get a 12mg too just in case. I'm a major nicotine addict and I vape 14mg.

SassySpice · 04/11/2013 16:48

Plenty Have ordered kit recommended by nbee.
Thanks for the Premier link - what a good, simple site. Will try some of their flavours once I've got started with my first kit.

Can't wait to get my delivery Smile

Hi Vapers (not Vipers!) Smile

Am new to this - bout two weeks in. So far I've bought a VIP starter kit which had 2 clearos, a UPC charger, 1100 battery, think its the same as ego-c - and a bottle of liquid. Since then I've gotten a backup battery, carry-necklace (handy!) and 4 dekang liquids. The 1st clearo packed up last night. I washed it today but dunno if it will be ok.
Any suggestions as to what's good replacement clearos? The dekangs are 18mg which I like but the flavours are minimal. Also does the quality of clearo affect the vape experience? TIA Thanks
Hooray for vaping!!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/11/2013 14:00

Welcome Kelly and SmallSherry Smile

SmallSherry, what sort of clearo is it? Do you have a link to what you bought? I think 2 weeks use is not that bad for a clearo so you might just want to get more of the same! If it's rebuildable you just need to get replacement heads for it (or recoil it yourself Wink).

these are what I'm mostly using and they seem relatively problem free (compared with cheap CE4s and CE5's).

There are things about a clearo that affect the vape experience - low resistance ones (1.8 ohms) produce more vapour on a standard battery. Also some have two coils, again for more vapour, but they get through the liquid faster. There are other factors - top or bottom coil, what sort of drip tip you like, how many air holes ... but these come down to personal preference. I'm just happy with something which doesn't gurgle or taste burnt Grin

For the liquids, try Joose Juice the ones I've tried so far have been full of flavour. There's also a bottle of delicious Halo Twisted Java doing the rounds. I think Cantabile had it last Grin

FunnysInLaJardin · 05/11/2013 14:10

just laughing at how geeky this thread has become Grin

I ordered some liquids from Vape Escape and some new cartomisers which I can refill to go with my Vapourlite batteries. Looking forward to trying them out!

SmallSherryforMedicinal · 05/11/2013 14:38

Thanks for the welcome Smile

I love this thread. Great info & links and support. Haven't a notion how to do a link! I need more clearos so will buy same again this time until I know more!

QueenStromba · 05/11/2013 16:45

I've got the CE5s the nbee recommended in the post - so much better than the CE4s that came in the paradise vape bubble pack. I've also ordered a GS H2 and will report back once I've tested it.

Cantabile · 05/11/2013 17:53

Yes yes! SmallSherry, Kelly, and anyone else who missed it.... I have a bottle of Twisted Java and another of Coffee Mocha (or maybe it's Choco Mocha?) going begging, should you wish for it, or even them. Grin

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

I'd better come clean, hadn't I? NOBODY in the whole world likes them. They have traversed the globe twice and been up to the Space Station, where a passing alien snaffled them, took them off to Alpha Centauri from whence they travelled a bit more - on board a Probability Driven ship - and then back again. Beckamaw passed them onto Plenty, and now they're mine all mine mwah hah hah.

Truly? They're vile. Grin

Mind you, there'll be people who like them, won't there? It could be you Wink

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/11/2013 19:56
Grin

But you can't say they lack flavour!

Cantabile · 05/11/2013 21:44

Nor do they lack smell, Plenty. DD won't enter a room if they are in it, even with the tops screwed on tight!

Cantabile · 05/11/2013 21:45

But seriously, if anyone would like to try them, please say so and I'll post them on..

Sallystyle · 06/11/2013 08:19

Waves at OP Katy ;)

While I sit here gaping.

Sallystyle · 06/11/2013 08:20

Vaping, I am vaping.

Not gaping.

WTFlike · 06/11/2013 18:51

Can anyone recommend someone else who does the cheap CE4's other than ParadiseVape? The customer service from them isn't great.

ilovesooty · 06/11/2013 20:28

WTFthey're having server difficulties at the moment and their website is down. I suspect they have a lot on as a result:I've always found their customer service ok.

Have a look at some of the sites on All About E-cigarettes discount list. They're all trusted and endorsed.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 06/11/2013 20:42

Flowers to Lyanna for the cinnamon apple. I'll try it tomorrow and post a review. It's a bit late for 26mg this evening Grin

WTF - these are the only 'disposable' CE4's I've tried that weren't completely dreadful. I didn't try many before I moved onto these.

I know I'm getting a bit evangelical about the gs-h2 but two things happened yesterday:

  1. I dropped a clearomiser in the street and it got trodden on by a passer-by (trying to change flavours while walking in London rush hour Grin). I gave it a wet-wipe and screwed it back on - worked fine.

  2. I fell asleep vaping Blush I found my pv down the side of the bed this morning, upside down. Gave it a wipe and carried on vaping - worked fine.

What I like best about them is you can vape them down to the very dregs without getting a dry hit.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 06/11/2013 20:52

IMPORTANT

Paradise Vape are having security issues. Someone posted a link on one of the forums and anyone clicking on it found themselves logged in to someone else's account. They've gone offline until they sort this out.

I've ordered twice from there and they've been great - very good value, fast delivery and the kits aren't shit. They really need to completely re-do their website though.

WTFlike · 06/11/2013 21:08

Thanks both. Plenty will those Shisha ones work with my CE4 battery from Paradise Vape?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 06/11/2013 21:39

I have to give away:

Kanger protank I (the old version) - comes highly recommended but I've discovered I don't like metal drip-tips and it's not changeable on this one. It has a glass tank (so no liquids will crack it) and a bottom coil. It takes the same coil heads as evod and gs-h2 so if you're wanting to upgrade from either of these would be a good choice.

30ml of Hangsen RY4 12mg, still sealed - I like the flavour but 12mg is too low for me. It's the best tobacco flavour I've found, is what I started on and is still what I mostly use a month later (better with a splosh of RY6 in it). Would suit someone wanting to give up 10-15 fags a day.

Approx 7ml of Diamond Mist 6mg g&v - bought from a dodgy stall in Camden - supposed to taste like golden vag - actually tastes kind of RY4ish from what I remember but far too low nic for me.

10ml Diamond Mist 12mg g&v - see above. This one still sealed.

10ml Halo Cafe Mocha 24mg - this has done the rounds is well steeped and is now in a spare bottle with a hand written label. If you like your coffee with a hint of peppermint and a large dollop of cattle dung this one's for you Grin. Go on, who's game? It's less nasty than the Twisted Java

If you want any of these, drop me a pm.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 06/11/2013 21:46

Yes, they'll work fine WTF. CE4 is the clearomiser. Your battery is an eGo - anything that says 510 or eGo will fit on your battery.

WTFlike · 06/11/2013 22:14

Thanks for that Plenty. I ordered them and a spare battery. You're very kind giving away your stuff!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 06/11/2013 22:30

It's all stuff I know I won't use and like the OP I'm feeling quite evangelical - if I can help anyone switch I'm happy to do so Smile

WTFlike · 06/11/2013 22:32

Same here, I'm trying to convert my family - as you can imagine, they're thrilled.

FunnysInLaJardin · 06/11/2013 22:38

well my stuff has arrived and I have spent a pleasant evening filling cartomisers and trying out the flavours. So far Gold and Silver and Caramel are the best. Most pleased and have smoked one sub standard normal fag tonight, so I have a feeling they are now a thing of the past. Anyone want 200 silkcut purple Grin

stillenacht · 06/11/2013 22:41

Hi allSmile

No cigs for over a month nowGrinGrin

Still live my caramel apple pie. Can't seem to find a better one although butterscotch is nice in small amounts and also strawberry milkshakeSmile
