To think that a GROWN MAN should be able to pack his own suitcase?

... Without shouting "where are my pants?"

"Did you move those socks?"

a) I don't know where your pants and socks are

And

b) You are a Grown Man!

And

c) Shouting the length of the house will not magically make your pants appear!

And breathe....

Only two sleeps to go.

Why do men think shouting that will make things appear?

It's one of life's mysteries, really.

edwinbear · 04/07/2013 21:08

My dsis packs not only hers, and their 3 x dc's suitcases...but also her dh's as well. I have often asked her the same question.

Well,, to be fair, at least he does pack his own.

Just don't understand why he thinks I would know where his pants and socks are - he put them in the tumble dryer!? Confused

It's like when he asks me where his socket set is.

How would I know?!

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 04/07/2013 21:12

At least he doesn't expect me to pack it for him.

My husband packs his own. This means we frequently end up having to buy more pants while away.

It's not difficult, is it? Count up how many days you will be away for, then add that number of pants to the bag.

dontgowadingin · 04/07/2013 21:15

I pack my DH when we go away as he will put all his shitty clothes in and embarrass me.

He packs his own when he goes away with his mate as I couldn't give a flying fig then!

Salmotrutta · 04/07/2013 21:16

Hopefully he has counted enough...

I'm not washing his Knicks in the hotel sink! Grin

How does he get dressed every morning?!

My husband has offered to pack my suitcase a number of times. I'd end up with a load of thongs, short skirts and skimpy tops.

WorraLiberty · 04/07/2013 21:25

My DH packs every fucking thing he owns because 'well just in case' Confused

He forgets we share a suitcase and I would actually like some room to pack something for me.

Salmotrutta · 04/07/2013 21:27

Oh he does his own ironing and all that stuff AllOut and manages to get dressed every day - but packing for a two week holiday involves gathering all your pants together to assess the situation.

And if my DH packed my case I'd be in serious trouble - it'd be all sensible shoes and naice (in his opinion) things.

Grown men shoukd be abke to but ime they can't.

Remembers holiday to corfu when he packed six jerseys.

Remembers holiday to Cornwall when he packed two pairs of pants.

Always pack for him - esp for business trips because he canzkt fold the shirts!

Sorry to say that I keep toiletry bags topped up too so there are no last minute panics over missing things!

joanofarchitrave · 04/07/2013 21:30

Grin at your dh's sexytimes packing alloutof

Salmotrutta · 04/07/2013 21:31

It's more about "where's my X/Y/Z?" With my DH.

Like I'd know or care

Yet another reason to add to my ever growing list of why I am glad to be single.

mumblechum1 · 04/07/2013 21:35

Last but one weekend we went away; we take it in turns to do this once every 6 weeks or so. So DH has me convinced we're going somewhere cold and rainy so I pack my cagoule, walking boots, woolly jumpers.

We end up in Milan (in the Four Seasons, thanks dh!) and I unpack to find that he got ds to distract me and re-packed my suitcase with a surprisingly tasteful collection of cocktail dresses, nice day dresses etc and not one pair of knickers.

Bless his heart, I'm sure it was a genuine mistake Wink

PeanutPatty · 04/07/2013 21:36

I lay all the clothes on the bed and he packs the actual cases!

Optimist1 · 04/07/2013 21:37

This thread reminded me of always having to pack for me, my ex-husband and our two children when going on holiday. At the airport, when the check-in agent asked the "Did you pack your case yourself, Sir?" question, the kids and I would have to suppress our laughter when ex replied "Yes". I could have put anything in there and he'd be none the wiser!

GertrudeMorel · 04/07/2013 21:37

My dh just asked me if I wanted to wrap his mum's birthday presents.

I did this Hmm

I do that, he's much better at packing than I am. It's fascinating to watch him roll everything up.
