Hi gals!
Right I need to go shopping for a sexy (halter neck) swimsuit and was wondering if you have any suggestions please? 'Short' style bum options? Or just very low leg?
I need it to cover my bikini line please. I don't want to have to wax or shave down there all the time. It's for taking kids to the pool and I want to be able to just grab and go!
Thanks laydeez.

Thing is, I look alright lying down, but when I stand up in my cossie, the flesh seeps south and is just..... Squishy, for wont of a better description.

Excellent excuse for me to lie, glass in hand, on the sunbed whilst on holiday. Grin

Sorry late to the thread but:
these shorts
are nice and capacious and the matching bikini top, tankini and swim skirt are nice too and v v cheap. I enjoyed wearing them all on my hols last week

I got the navy polka dot.

Stylemeslim · 11/07/2013 07:45

Whether you have Kids or not, why can't a women feel sexy for herself. Raushing on your tummy will always make you look slimmer. If you feel good in what you are wearing, you feel confident. What's wrong with that !!! So many comments give negative comments for women talking positive about themselves. What is wrong with that. Alicia x

Coming a bit late to this discussion - found via 'Mumsnet Loves' mail. I do like the Very suit but have to add my vote to the pile for Esther Williams' swimsuits & bikinis. I own 2 of her one pieces and a red polka dot bikini which are all incredibly flattering & comfortable (the lower leg means "your bottom doesn't keep eating" your suit as you swim). I buy mine directly from the US from her site Esther Williams Official Site as they have more choice of fabrics and sizes and they are happy to ship to the UK (unlike a lot of US sites). The bikini bottoms look laughably enormous when you take them out of the packaging but look fab on. I was also impressed that she started the business in her 70's when people kept asking where they could swimsuits like she wore in her films.

IceAddict · 11/07/2013 16:50

Google brazillian bikinis they're so nice and they do shorty styles and skirt styles. Apparently they give the right coverage but are still sexy

MeAndMySpoon · 11/07/2013 18:45

Mumsnet, you give with one hand and you take away with the other. I saw the beautiful retro Very swimsuit in my email this morning, hie'd me over to Very to buy one, it said they had stock, ok I thought, will buy it later today. CAme back after lunch and it is TOTALLY out of stock in most sizes and both colours. And the 60's print one too. Sad mega sad face. I'd been looking for a very low-cut 50's style swimsuit for ages, for precisely the reasons given in this thread. Grin

The bloody MN Effect strikes again.

SnoopyLovesYou · 11/07/2013 19:21

MeAndMySpoon. I started this thread looking for a swimsuit. The Very one is unfortunately a huge disappointment for me! The inner boob bit looks very cheap, it reacts terribly to water, the sizes are way too big and it's not as flattering as I had hoped! Can't send it back as I've
worn it but will be putting it on eBay along with a few other swimsuits and bikinis if anyone is a size 14/16. I must be a true 12 now but even the size 12 would have been a disappointment. It's badly made I'm afraid and I'll be looking to the Esther site and the Australian one (forgot the name) for a better one!

MeAndMySpoon · 11/07/2013 19:34

Oh nooo! How disappointing. In what way does it react badly to water?? I fancy an Esther Williams one but they cost over twice as much!

CalamityJ · 11/07/2013 19:39

Bought this www.next.co.uk/x518216s1#147368x51

Looks fab, is halter neck, covers tummy, low leg so hides bikini line and you can pull the spotty material over the black pant area to hide even the most forest like of areas!

SnoopyLovesYou · 11/07/2013 23:45

Spoon the chest area does not look like it does on the model. There is a very visible black lining to the cups and it gapes at the chest area when wet, exposing the unexposables...

OP posts:
SnoopyLovesYou · 11/07/2013 23:50

CalamityJ I love it but can you really pull the spotty area right down to cover bikini line?

Oh! And it's sold out in every size and colour. Pity! Is it really good quality?

SnoopyLovesYou · 11/07/2013 23:58

Thanks for your message stylemeslim. You are dead right. I for one have spent a lot of years being told to effectively hide my sexiness for my now ex partner so now that I'm recovering from that relationship, I find it a relief that I have an ounce of self respect left and can wear things that I like regardless of what anyone else thinks. Amen. ;-)

OP posts:
SnoopyLovesYou · 11/07/2013 23:59

Also my kids love it when I wear pretty things... Makes a change! :-D

OP posts:
CalamityJ · 12/07/2013 04:01

Yep you really can as until I searched for this picture for the purposes of this thread that is how I'd been wearing it!

Maybe there's more in your local store? I only planned to invest in one & this was definitely the best quality. Saw similar pattern in supermarket but was half the price and half the quality. Not nearly as flattering because I would pay double to hide my mummy tummy

arrrghhhhwaiting · 12/07/2013 07:50

Well meandmyspoon, Im about to return the Very suit as i didnt like it! Or perhaps i should auction on here to the highest bidder? ;-)

VivaLeBeaver · 12/07/2013 08:05

I've ordered the green Very one, it looks lovely. I have a code as well...3jvxp gives you £15 off an order. Though you pay the full amount and they refund £15 once the orders complete for some reason? Hmm

SnoopyLovesYou · 16/07/2013 14:15

Any other boyleg one piece swimsuits out there that I should know about anyone??

Still need to buy one as that Very one really was a disappointment :-(

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 16/07/2013 16:19

Have you tried an esther williams one yet?

VivaLeBeaver · 16/07/2013 16:21

What didn't you like about the Very one? I'm wearing mine now (seriously), I love it.

BadRoly · 16/07/2013 16:30

Very late to the party but I have 2 of the Debdnhams swim dress cossies that GrinotPigio mentioned way up thread - a royal blue flowery one and a red spotty one. I love them both as they hide all the bits I want hidden but still look a bit glam!

SnoopyLovesYou · 16/07/2013 19:47

Well beaver the black insides of the bust are totally visible, it sags with water and exposes my chest (maybe need higher neckline) and is generally annoying for all reasons above

OP posts:
SnoopyLovesYou · 16/07/2013 19:57

Badroly do I not run the risk of looking like an idiot in my local swimming pool in a swimdress?
