Hi gals!
Right I need to go shopping for a sexy (halter neck) swimsuit and was wondering if you have any suggestions please? 'Short' style bum options? Or just very low leg?
I need it to cover my bikini line please. I don't want to have to wax or shave down there all the time. It's for taking kids to the pool and I want to be able to just grab and go!
Thanks laydeez.

I'm picking mine up, in Teal, today. Free delivery to the newsagent around the corner!

Will try and get back to you Smile. I am the larger lady Wink

diddl - are you serious? People refer to waxing/shaving etc. their bikini lines for a reason - and the last I looked swimsuits have the same kind of lines as bikinis.

samandi · 02/07/2013 11:25

Personally this is a bit of a bugbear with me - I seem to remember posting similar awhile ago. I just don't get who thought it was a great idea for grown women to go around swimming in pants. Shorts are sooo much more comfortable and it's great that there are more options for women around these days.

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 11:38

Yeah! Men aren't expected to wax all their hair off and wear speedos!

And as for whose idea it was for grown women to go around swimming in pants... hmm... no prizes for guessing that!

Yes I am serious!

Didn't mean to offend.

I swim regularly & don't shave/wax-I just don't wear high leg costumes.

samandi · 02/07/2013 15:19

not offended - just slightly incredulous! :-)

samandi · 02/07/2013 15:20

Perhaps I just don't know enough about different swimsuit cuts/legs, or women's bikini lines ...

Eliza22 · 02/07/2013 15:37

Oh bugger! It's too big. Will be sending a 16 back to isme.com for anyone who wants to know.

A 14 would have been fine.

diddl · 02/07/2013 15:44

Well I might also have been wrong in my thinking of shorts!!Blush

I think is quite hard to get a costume that's not cut quite high, though.

So, to go back to OP, I agree that we shouldn't have to wax/shave to fit what seems to be the majority of swimwear.

ProtegeMoi · 02/07/2013 16:59

I've just got a lovely one from Next exactly how you describe.

Can't link but its black with white spots and has tie sides so you can make them as long or as short as you want.

ProtegeMoi · 02/07/2013 17:06

Here it is if someone can make it clicky.

It looks short in the pic but the tie sides undo and you lengthen the sides to make it into a swim dress.

I would definitely need to shave/wax my 'bikini-line' to wear a 'normal' swimming costume/bikini bottoms, its annoying Sad

I wear a tankini whick is vest/boyshort combo but some of the swimsuits linked to look fab.

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 20:11

Well I got my Very swimsuit in the post today. Size 14. I think it's hard to tell if swimsuits are big or not! Usually I'm a 12. It looked ok when on but certainly wasn't skin tight. Covers behind well. Gorgeous colour & silky material.

melliebobs · 02/07/2013 20:13

I like wearing board shorts n halter neck tankini. Very.co.uk had quite a lot last time I looked Smile

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 20:13

The question is- does it cover my bikini line? Well yes. There are a few upper leg stragglers but hey I'm gonna be shaving my legs so that's ok. Will try it on again before swimming in it to make sure it's not too big.

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 20:16

Yeah re: tankinis- no good whatsoever! Need those stretch marks securely under wraps

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 20:19

Em... Eliza? If you're a 14/16 I'm sorry but if you ask me, you're not a larger lady!!!!!

Don't want to get into weight issues but honestly you made yourself sound a bit like you were obese or something :-)

Oh, no. It's just that due to periods of being very content and then very stressed..... I've gained 2 stone in 4 years. On my frame, it's not good! But no, I'm not obese. I do look a right sight though, in swimwear.

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 23:06

Tell me about it!

Was looking at myself in the mirror in my new swimsuit. I don't know who invented Miss World Swimwear (??!!) but my name's not down and I'm not getting in! ;-)

Diddl, I used to be able to wear ordinary swimsuits with just a bit of 'tidying up' but the older I get the more my bikini line seems to 'spread' outwards. What with that and plucking out the chin hairs things aren't looking good Grin.

I for one am glad this thread is here because I never look at style and beauty and would not have known that people have been buying the lovely retro swimsuits. I've been tempted to get one for ages to solve excess hair prob but thought they might be considered frumpy (haven't been near a pool for ages as local one was being refurbished so got out of habit, but intend to start again). I think I've got some shopping to do Smile.

Flossie82 · 03/07/2013 06:51

Hi, loving the look of the very swimsuit. I tend to find my boobs have a tendency to pop out of this type of top though - what's the "boob coverage" like? (I'm about a 34 to 36 D to F depending on who measures / how recently DS has fed!!)

diddl · 03/07/2013 08:39

Yes, I've also suffered "the spread"Blush

In fact I'm worried now that my swimsuit might not be covering me!Grin
