To put his baby in the washer?

If not do I just lob it on or does it need putting in a pillow case?

He has hid her so I cant wash her. Hes saying 'no point wash her mum' 'washer hurt her' and my favourite 'babies no in baths not washer, silly you'

I am going to wash it. It is disgusting. Its pink body is nearly black! Luckily he painted her nails so you cant see the dirt under them.

He is making out like I am the worse person ever so I'm going to do it when he goes to his dads. Well once I find it

What exactly is 'his baby'? Confused

I'm assuming it's a toy belonging to your DS.

ArtisanLentilWeaver · 22/06/2013 16:40

Lob it in wash when your ds has gone out.

Oh yes. Sorry should have cleared that up Blush

Its his doll. It need washing, it really is feral looking

edwardsmum11 · 22/06/2013 16:41

I am hoping it is his dolly.

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 16:43

This doll really is his PFB. Hes too protective.

Its one that cries and laughs so has a box thing inside. Will the washer damage it?

Timeforabiscuit · 22/06/2013 16:45

God yes sling it in the washing machine!!

Crikeyblimey · 22/06/2013 16:46

The washer will probably render the baby mute I'm afraid!

When Doggy needs a wash he has some travel sickness medicine to stop him feeling sick during the spin cycle and lots of hugs when he comes out of the dryer (if that's any help) :)

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 16:47

Mute you say?

Washer it is! Grin I dont like it. It is creepy looking

Buy a new one and make sure it is good before you wash baby. I bought a new horse and told DD he had had a shower. She bought it now I can swap horses at will. The horses bell still works, baby's voice box won't. Yes to a pillow case.

ChaoticTranquility · 22/06/2013 16:57

Throw it in the washer then so long as you don't think the loss of its voice will cause problems.

Viewofthehills · 22/06/2013 17:01

I would try Cif cream and a green scrubber first before the washer or perhaps bleach spray.

THERhubarb · 22/06/2013 17:02

NO!

The washer will break the voice box inside the doll.

If you must clean it then wash the body gently with a little soap and water, but tbh there is no need.

Children gain great comfort from familiar smells and as dirty and smelly as she is, that's his greatest comfort. She won't be full of germs as all the bacteria will have come from him, there is nothing new he can pick up from her.

If you wash her, she'll still be stained but she will have lost that comforting smell, her voice will be broken and you will have one inconsolable little boy.

Leave her be

TickledOnion · 22/06/2013 17:03

You might want to remove the batteries first.

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 17:04

She looks so scruffy though Grin

Might have to get some doll clothes to hide the body

I love the bit where he painted her nails!!

Can you wash his baby whilst he's sleeping?

And maybe spray her with your perfume, or rub a bit of your deodorant on her afterwards, so she smells familiar and comforting?

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 17:07

Its not the cleaning her that bothers him its me saying to use washer. Apparently I'm silly because you don't put babies in washer just the bath.

Grin

Its an horrible doll

Badvoc · 22/06/2013 17:08

Spray it with bleach and scrub it.
The washer may damage the hair too...

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 17:11

Bad Its hairless, its a bald creepy baby

HerrenaHarridan · 22/06/2013 17:16

Hmm, tbh I personally think that children's toys that dont go in the machine go in the bin.

I deliberately establish fairly early on by putting it in the machine.

If you are desperate to save her voice you could cut the box out and stick it back in once clean.

Badvoc · 22/06/2013 17:19

Omg.
You are not selling this "baby" to me at all! :)
That's true, you could take the voice box out prior to washing.
Just don't do the surgery in your kitchen table on a dark and stormy night where the neighbours or passers by could see you!
:)

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 17:24

Hes gone and I have found the baby. He put her under his bed covers Grin

I have to cut the baby open to get the box. I cant see so wouldn't be able to stitch it up without it looking like its been attacked. The voice box is nearly as big as its body

Bad Its horrible. Its eyes are open when sat up, shut when laid down but if you get it at the right angle its only half open and half closed.

OP posts:
Badvoc · 22/06/2013 18:42

Ewwwwww....:(

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 22/06/2013 18:43

I dont like dolls. My mum gave him it and she said its because it creeped her out too.

OP posts:
Badvoc · 22/06/2013 18:49

Could it have an - ahem - accident?
You know, a terrible one, where nothing identifiable was left?

OlyRoller · 22/06/2013 18:51

Don´t hurt his baby!!

Just clean it with a scrubby sponge.
