Last thing at night is a bad idea? I've been enjoying watching it, looking forward to seeing it, and have to wait until after the DC are in bed before we watch but it's giving me weird dreams....

I only watched the first half of the first episode, I was looking forward to it but found it a bit disturbing.

It IS disturbing! If you think the first episode was bad, we are now 12(ish) episodes in and it's getting more disturbing each episode. Though, I can't help it, I like him despite his .... Um, condition....

Some parts of Dexter are very good. I loved the season with Julia Styles. Sometimes, it's just too much - I hate gory TV.

I would not watch it alone!

I used to watch an episode a night in bed, will probably watch the new series in bed as well

It's great. Horrifying, but great.

It really taps into the barbarian part of me that feels entirely comfortable with that kind of 'justice' for those who have truly committed abominable crimes.

I guess that's why it's so popular.

I used to watch it. Then when he had kids it got weird. (No logic there, at all.)

Certainly would not watch it at night or alone.

Then again, have had to ban myself from watching Misdsomer Murders at night too

I agree on the Trinity season left me scarred for life, that last scene! You think its all ending happily and they hit you with such a shocker. My ds1 was a similar age to his baby in that scene and it just left me wanting to blub and I never cry at t.v (thinking about it I think I was preg with ds2 so might explain to blubbing urge but still shocked me no end).

Season 3 was on Sky recently then it stopped. I dont know where to catch up on it from there

Dexter is the best thing on tv this decade.

I've just got season 7 on DVD and am 4 episodes in (well, should be 6 episodes in, but I have a habit of falling asleep on the sofa while DD's sleeping next to me - don't worry, DP is there to supervise). Can't believe the twists they've introduced a third of the way in, and season 8 is going to be the last series! What are they going to do?

Dexter is more than shag-worthy, but The Killing is much better. IMO.
