It's a nightmare, the sun sets outside my bedroom window, I keep my curtains shut and window open but it's too hot I was rolling from one side of the bed to another last night, thankfully I have a kingsize to myself.

It's to be 11 degrees tonight, give me -1 anyday. I need to get a fan - we may a few more days.

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 04/06/2013 19:50

I hate it too. DS has eczema and the change from cold to hot over the last week has flared his skin up so badly Sad. So as a result he is not sleeping, and therefore neither am I.

NorthernLurker · 04/06/2013 19:51

YOu need to keep the curtains closed and the window slightly open all day. Other windows open to create a draught through. A fan can be helpful.

PersonalClown · 04/06/2013 19:52

I can't sleep in the heat. I have a fan on permanently from about May till October and have the windows open all year round in my bedroom.

BarredfromhavingStella · 04/06/2013 19:55

YABVVVU, warm is good-yes you need to close the blinds/curtains & keep windows open all day. You do however have my sympathy with a restless child.

EliotNess · 04/06/2013 19:57

26? thats nothing!

StarlightMcKenzie · 04/06/2013 19:57

Yes me too. I HATE this frigging warm weather and feel it ought to be HOT by now so that I could perhaps maybe turn my heating off.

But alas, this is England!

lljkk · 04/06/2013 20:04

YABVU, it's only 16 in Eastern England! I'd love 26.

LauraSmurf · 04/06/2013 20:04

Buy a small air conditioning unit. Honestly it was a life saver last year with our 8mo (at the time). We put it on when she was in the bath to cool the room and left it on until we went to sleep. The coolness plus the white noise made for some really solid sleep from her. We would tip toe in and turn it off when we went to bed as it had largely cooled down enough by then.

We did put an automatic temperature level on it so it never got too cold.

Best money ever spent!

Bunbaker · 04/06/2013 20:22

YABVU. It is summer. It is supposed to be warm.

What hot weather? It has been 19 degrees here today. Warm, but most definitely not hot. And I have been shivering all day in my over air conditioned office.

olibeansmummy · 04/06/2013 20:24

YABU, it could be snowing next week, we have to make the most of it!

DollyClothespeg · 04/06/2013 20:24

27 degrees here today. Loving it. Beats the freezing cold wind and rain we had last week - I'd much rather have this stay for a bit.
There's always someone, somewhere moaning about the weather regardless of what it's like, isn't there?! Grin

ChewingOnLifesGristle · 04/06/2013 20:26

Yabu. I knew this would happen. We get crap weather for about a year non stop and the first couple of nice days (at last) and someone moans about itGrin Blimey charlie.

SirChenjin · 04/06/2013 20:29

God no - I LOVE it! Mind you, up here in Edinburgh it's not that hot - just nice and warm. Bliss. Much better than the bastard snow, hail, ice, gales and horizontal freezing rain we get for months on end.

emanjay · 04/06/2013 20:29

I'm really careful to keep out of the sun but still ended up with a burnt head and a red face! Kids want to be out in it all flippin day so I am always trying to find shade to hide in. It's too warm in our sons room (attic) even with a blind and a fan. And I want to shoot the birds that sing at 4am

zoobaby · 04/06/2013 20:29

Oh how the times have changed. I'm a summer lover myself but admit that last year (pg) and this year (8mo) I look upon overcast mornings with actual glee. Hope it's not always this way for me now!

Fakebook · 04/06/2013 20:32

YABU. I used to love winter and hate the summer, but seriously, we have been exposed to dull gloomy rainy/snowy weather 9 months of the year for so many years now and I've had enough. Everytime it gets even a tiny bit hot everyone starts complaining. Buy a fan, buy an AC unit, have a cold shower. Stop complaining.

Idocrazythings · 04/06/2013 20:33

Truly can not believe what I'm reading YABU!!!

SisterMatic · 04/06/2013 20:34

I posted about this last night, you have my sympathy too I find this weather unbearable.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 04/06/2013 20:35

YABU!!! This weather is blissful.

I grew up in the American midwest without air conditioning, though, so I know how it feels to lie in a hot bedroom. (Although 26 degrees didn't feel hot to us then. It had to be at least 30 before people said the word "hot.")

Startail · 04/06/2013 20:37

YABU
We were burning heating oil in May in a South facing house. This made me Angry

Our halfterm shopping trip felt like October. This is definitely better.

lljkk · 04/06/2013 20:38
