Your OP makes no sense.

I don't understand what you're asking.

MrsBW · 08/04/2013 13:08

Ah, you mean 'if' not is?

Any thoughts? Yes, someone has died. RIP.

Feminine · 08/04/2013 13:08

You are wondering if it should be private right?

Not if we can buy shares in it?

Shares in a funeral? Sad YABU for starting the bajillionth MT thread.

ilovecolinfirth · 08/04/2013 13:10

Normally a former pm should be entitled to a state funeral

The only other PM to have a state funeral was Churchill, she does not deserve one.

JamNan · 08/04/2013 13:14

Ding Dong the Witch is dead!

YANBU Why should the tax payers have to fork out for a state funeral? And at great inconvenience too. God the media is going to milk this for weeks.

YouTheCat · 08/04/2013 13:14

I don't care for her family. Arms dealing son and a bizarre waste of space daughter.

And she didn't care for any of our families so why the hell should I consider hers?

Scrubber · 08/04/2013 13:15

Imagine a privatised funeral. You could pay to attend, those that love or hate her. I predict a riot.

Feminine · 08/04/2013 13:16

Well youthecat

You are allowed your opinion I suppose.

SantanaLopez · 08/04/2013 13:17

I too predict riots, Scrubber.

HerrenaHarridan · 08/04/2013 13:18

Tsk tsk nothing!

The whole family are corrupt to the core.

I'm just gutted I'm going to miss the party in Trafalgar Square on Saturday.

YouTheCat · 08/04/2013 13:20

How very gracious of you to allow me an opinion. Hmm

norfolknic · 08/04/2013 13:23

Gosh some of you are bitter! She had a lot of supporters too, probably one of the most admired Prime Ministers by many and first female PM. You may not like her policies but she was very successful and true to her beliefs, unlike a lot of politicians.

gordyslovesheep · 08/04/2013 13:26

Well said YouTheCat Grin she didn't give a tiny rats wank about the lives of my family and our friends and neighbours - I don't care much for hers - I don't even think she WAS loved by anyone who knew her

I wont be mourning

norfolknic · 08/04/2013 13:26

That party in Trafalgar Square is sick, did you celebrate the death of Saddam Hussein? Or Bin Laden? I don't remember Trafalgar Square having a party then. Really tasteless.

LadyBeagleEyes · 08/04/2013 13:27

Her death means nothing to be but I won't gloat.
But for her to get a state funeral an be on a par with Churchill?
There would be no justification for this surely.
A private funeral, with a memorial service to follow as all other former PMs have had.

YouTheCat · 08/04/2013 13:29

Hussein and Bin Laden didn't do a number on this country.

Thatcher did. Sold everything off. Disastrous economic policies. Stupid wars. Vile.

MrsBW · 08/04/2013 13:31

Stupid wars??? What, like the Falklands?? Confused

trice · 08/04/2013 13:31

It will probably be good for the economy. We could all buy armbands with her face on. Or balloons. And they should definitely charge for the best seats. It's only what she would have wanted.
