So...she's died...any thoughts?

I`m supposed to be off the drink but this is as good a reason to crack open the champagne as any. The fact she was the first female pm is irrelevant when you consider what a horrible individual she was.

TheCalvert · 08/04/2013 13:33

Youthecat

Sounds a bit like Gordon, that does...

And we are all suffering under the legacy his government left us.

gordyslovesheep · 08/04/2013 13:37

yes YouTheCat it is obviously a fact that if you object to Thatchers politics you must at the same time wholly support every decision ever made by any Labour leader ever - otherwise time will end

or maybe not !

norfolknic · 08/04/2013 13:38

I hated Brown's economic policies, there's no way I'd gloat and publicise a party to celebrate his death though. I think Blair caused hundreds of young British men to die fighting a ridiculous war, I still wouldn't celebrate his death.

I'm astounded that people would stoop as low as to celebrate and have a party in Trafalgar square for anyone's death :( shame on them. Is there also a plan to desecrate her grave?

vintageclock · 08/04/2013 13:39

I wasn't a fan of Margeret Thatcher but some of the posts on here are pretty disgusting. The kind of thing you would expect from teenagers, not grown women.

HerrenaHarridan · 08/04/2013 13:41

I believe that there were parties all over the western world to celebrate the death of those 'terrorists'

I don't think it's sick at all tbh, an astonishing number of people have reason to celebrate her demise, she destroyed, lives and towns.

The town I come from is still reeling from the destruction she reaped!

And as for her family, do you know anything about mark thatcher?

Nope- definitely needs to be privatised. The utility companies should pay for it.

Might stop and by some champagne on the way home

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 08/04/2013 13:44

Her family have nothing to do with this. What path they chose to take is their business. If you hate Thatcher than hate her, leave her family out of it. Start a new thread about them if you really feel the need.

Some of you sound like kids in a playground.

MarianaTrench · 08/04/2013 13:44

'she done a lot for her country'

Ahahahahaha.

Er, yes she did!

I'm not saying I'm anymore impressed with the government since but she was beyond the pale.

MarianaTrench · 08/04/2013 13:46

Somehow I am struggling to raise any sympathy for the grief of Arms Dealer Mark Thatcher.

gordyslovesheep · 08/04/2013 13:46

hahaha Altinkum google 'The Falkland Conflict ...for starters also see Ireland

Her family where only drag into this by idiots saying 'think of her family' to be fair people are entitled to feel how they feel

MarianaTrench · 08/04/2013 13:47

I think it would be more accurate to say that she did a lot TO her country.

Fakebook · 08/04/2013 13:49

Yes she did do a lot for this country. A lot of bad stuff, but hey, she's dead now, so no one will say anything bad about her anymore.

Funny how she didn't believe in state provision but was quite happy to take hundreds of thousands of pounds in state benefits after she retired. Of course she doesn't deserve a state funeral - she singlehandedly tried to dismantle as much of the state as she could.

However I'm sure Dave and Gideon can find some money to fund her funeral in these 'all in it together ' times by cutting disability allowances or children's services or care provision for those pensioners who didn't manage to marry a millionaire.

HerrenaHarridan · 08/04/2013 13:54

Tbh I'm disgusted by how many people are vehemently defending her.

Feminine · 08/04/2013 13:54

Agree, Altinkum...

Bitter bitter bitter, perhaps if some of you had more of her ambitious and resilient attitude you would have made successes of your lives in the over twenty years since she left office, instead of harbouring such anger and resentment.

You don't think it was an easy achievement, handed to her on a plate, to become first female Prime Minister?

Inertia · 08/04/2013 14:01

Having a wealthy husband to bankroll her can't have hurt .
