I've-always- wanted a large number of people to answer this question./weird. Just don't know what's 'normal'.

Trim for me, wax is just annoying, shaving is itchy and scratchy and natural is apparently not socially acceptable :-\

Veet the lot or most of it depending on mood. All the time in the summer, rather less so in winter, too cold and lazy! I am 31 .

Shave underneath, and trim the triangle. I have goosebumps underneath my hair, which pubes cover up. Am 34.

I am sure the yoof contingent will be along soon to tell us men like it it's cleaner

Not me, I love a big retro seventies muff. I'm 33.

I've been with my fiancée since before the craze for bald female genitalia hit, so I've never encountered a hairless vagina. I don't know what I'd do if encountered one. I think I'd find it all quite disturbing and run in horror.

The exact opposite of John Ruskin who fled from the marital bed when he discovered his wife had hair on her genital region.

I do nothing to mine. I was shaved before I had a CS but apart from that all natural. I am not excessively hairy, and don't have any problems wearing a swimsuit (wouldn't wear a bikini, but that has nothing to do with pubes.

I'm 40 if that's relevant.

Am 43- tomorrow, I am going swimming with my children and another child - in preparation I will shave the stray hairs (quite a few) that poke out from under my swimming costume, so as not to scare small children- but other than that.....

I had a boyfriend not so long ago who was adamant that most women shaved all their bits. Being a nurse, and that not being my experience, I tentatively broached the subject with my ex, who is a doctor, and does a lot of work in obs and gynae, and in his experience they don't either. Go figure.

I once attacked my pubes after a large glass of gin, and ended up looking like a diseased badger Blush

I shaved it all over once. Never again. It was itchy and was IMO way less sensitive than with pubes.

I only trim and tidy the sides when I go swimming or on holiday. Apart from that, I'm au naturel. I'm 23.

Trim always. Iv got a bikini trimmer too. I do find I feel cleaner than with it longer but personally prefer at least some hair there. Makes sex more comfortable.

I do love having a hot wax done but its so expensive to have someone do it properly and we don't have spare cash.

I go for waxing, a short back and sides jobbie.

Can't stand it when pubic hair sticks out of the sides of underwear so I get rid of it and trim the triangle.

I could never get rid of it all. Too weird.

Trim the stragglers.

Brazilian every 8 weeks or so, husbands beard trimmer in between for neatening purposes...

I don't have stragglers so it's very easy to go seasons weeks without tending. I guess if I was more hirsute, it might be more of an issue for me. If I'm in the mood, then a trim is as far as I'm prepared to go.

I happily go swimming with an unkempt area, since I only have a small, contained, ahem, garden...

As an aside, isn't 'pussy' a very outdated word now...? Wouldn't some sort of bald creature such as, Gawd, I dunno - a baby Roo? - be more appropriate? Hmm

ComposHat I think it would be more alarming to encounter a hairy vagina!! That would be some sort of medical phenomenon....

My pubic hair is trimmed very very short with a trimmer. Not as keen on bald as I used to be and it's easier and quicker to maintain. Don 't like the full on bush look but confess that I started getting rid of my pubic hair when I was 17 and have never grown it to its full on glory (same with armpit hair). I am now in my 40s so not sure that the age thing is really relevant.

socially acceptable? What kind of socialising is this?

Wax most, shave the fiddly bits.

I would actually like to have a full bush, but I'm not hirsute enough. It just looks patchy and silly if I try to grow it all in.

My DP has never expressed a preference either way.

Shaved underneath, and at the sides, triangle left natural length or sometimes trimmed a tiny bit shorter. Two babies have come out of my vagina - hair or no hair, there's no way I look like a little girl.

Well each to their own! ;-)

In my defence it was very late at night and I was trying to be adult about it and not overuse muff and bush.

That'll teach me.

Combo wax / trim approach.

Report
PiHigh · 05/04/2013 10:45

Brazilian hot wax or just natural. Definitely not just a trim - done with a razor/cream it looks messy and waxed I feel I wasted my money for just a slight trim.

Clearly I like extremes Confused and Dh couldn't care less what it's like.

fedupofnamechanging · 05/04/2013 10:48

I shave the underneath and the sides, so I am left with a neat little bit at the front. I haven't found it itchy, but it does need doing every other day which is a pita. Am toying with waxing it but am a wimp
