janknitti it's worth saying that it's not necessary to wear a soft bra when pregnant or breastfeeding. It's fine to wear wires if the bra fits properly. Anita make underwired nursing bras if that's something you'd be interested in. (Am in early pregnancy myself and have no intention of letting my 32Gs sag in a soft cup!)

Nonky · 02/03/2013 10:58

Oh thank you thank you thank you!!! I love mumsnet :-) xxxx I shall report back

MrsKoala · 02/03/2013 11:04

Thanks so much. Sorry to be a pain but can i just confirm that 36e is where i should be starting?

I don't want to be wildly off as she is already only humouring me and will not be patient enough to try loads on.

we are off to Bravissimo this avo.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 11:10

If she's 37/43 I would try a 36 e and f - but try to get bravissimo to do the fitting as they will be quick!

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 11:12

Good luck Mrs Koala. I would also suggest that you try and get the fitter to fit your mum without mentioning sizes until the end, when of course she'll be totally delighted at her nerw boobs!

onemoredayplease · 02/03/2013 11:19

Help! I'm a 36 followed by 46. So bloody uncomfortable in my current bra which is a 38f . What should I be wearing?!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 11:19

I think I might spontaneously combust

The fitted bra gives her zero support at all, it's just sitting there.

AllBellyandBoobs · 02/03/2013 11:21

Ooh, can I join this party a little late please? I measure 73cm under books and 97/98cm around boobs. I always wore a 30gg pre pregnancy and am wearing them again despite still breast feeding. they seem okayish but i wonder if i need a bigger cup size. Also, they tend to rub around my armpits. Don't know if this is relevant but the bit from my back to my shoulders seems very short and so I always have to have the straps on the tightest setting so they don't slip down. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom :)

AllBellyandBoobs · 02/03/2013 11:21

Boobs not books, not sure what my book measurements are

Artesia · 02/03/2013 11:24

Just to add a huge thank you from me- inspired by this thread, I went to be measured properly(ie not M&S!) and went from a 34B to a 30D.

Am VERY proud of my new D cups not so much the back flab though and DP is very impressed!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 11:26

That makes you roughly 28.75"/38.5". At those measurements, it is probably worth considering a 28 back, try a 28GG and 28H to start with and follow the fit guidance from there. The straps slipping down can often be an indication of the back being too loose - I am also short torso-d and if the back is even slightly too big it's bye bye straps

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 11:26

onemoredayplease Try a 36GG. How does the band on your 38 feel back to front? If it's very big then you might want to consider a 34H.

SpicyPear · 02/03/2013 11:26

Ooh statistically that's awful. All the poor viewers making an effort to sort their bra issues and being told to add four or five! That would put me in a 38 band. Ridiculous.

onemoredayplease · 02/03/2013 11:29

Thanks. I have the 38 on the final fastening now. In an old sports bra today as feeling so desperate! At least this holds all of me in Grin

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 11:30

Artesia You need to keep scooping the back fat in. Sounds to me like you still need a bigger cup.

AllBellyandBoobs · 02/03/2013 11:31

Thank you! I shall order some new bras today. If there was a mumsnet bra shop then you would have made a financial killing with all this help

stacysmom · 02/03/2013 11:38

My Brastop.com arrived! Goodbye M&S 36B... Hello lovely 30FFs! I have 'Defying Gravity' swirling around in my head now. Just waiting for DH to notice... Can't be long, competing with a set of new speakers though Hmm

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 11:40

OP posts:
Artesia · 02/03/2013 11:42

stacysmom · 02/03/2013 11:42
