We have a 56 reg A3. I get treated much more deferentially in it than in the new Fabia!

YANBU, there are a lot of twatty Audi drivers around though.

If we were being honest there are a lot of poor drivers around regardless of what they drive due to people rushing and a general lack of manners in society as a whole which is reflected on our roads. To label a particular brand of car seems short sighted.

Sorry, Yappy. Didn't mean to offend. I don't make a distinction between calling someone an 'idiot' or a 'wanker' tbh. His actions were rude and unreasonable, whatever you want to call him.

Audi drivers are generally twats.

As are the drivers of grey Golfs and Toyota Yaris.

That is all.

I dunno about most Audi drivers being cunty, but most of the cunty, drive up your arse and flash drivers are deffo Audi, BMW or SUV owners.

No, I'm not Envy. I suspect the alpha male who is filled with a sense of entitlement is impressed by status cars, hence certain marques attract folks who drive like cocks.

ComposHat

Back in the 80s a motorist went out to their car Mid-winter to find the door lock completely iced up. They blew and blew on it, in a rather desperate attempt to defrost it. Unfortunately they became faint and their mouth became frozen to the lock.Shock

A passing hack took a snap.

DP has an old Audi. He drives like a grandad. :)
I, on the other hand, drive an ancient astra, and do sometimes drive like a maniac. (I may be joking with this statement...)

I drive an Audi, as does DH and we are lovely!

However, I do think that because Audis hold their resale value so well, an awful lot of company cars are Audis and the like. So a lot of reps in a hurry tend to get them, and in my experience they can often be the entitled twats of the road.

Audis and BMWs seem to attract the same sort of "I'm more important than you and my desire to use this bit of rode over rules yours" type of plonkers who drive aggressively.

My dh drives an Audi. It was his car that saved his life when he was driving really carefully (30 mph in a 40 zone). When he was hit head on by a drunk peugeot driver doing 80 mph.

If he had been in my car he would probably be dead.

Uggmum another life saver ..... 3 years ago I was I motorway pile up and the police told me that my Audi saved mine and my children's lives. (an accident not at all my fault ) my Audi was written off.

When we pop out today In my audi, i will remind myself with a smile, that's it's better being an alive idiot than a dead one.

And yes... If you are driving too slow or middle lane hogging...I'll tell you.

I'm sure some Audi drivers are lovely, considerate people.

But it is amazing the proportion of tailgaters and speeders are Audis.

If someone comes screaming up behind me at 75mph (in a 60) and overtakes on a blind corner then the car they are driving is more often an Audi than one would expect, going purely on the basis of % of Audis on the road.

I'm not sure we fit the typical profile here. Yes, we have an Audi a4, but its an estate with two kid's car seats in the back, muddy carpets and tons of crap in the back. Oh, and it's 10 years old and hardly moves from the drive because dh commutes by train.

Please tell me we're not cunty ...

Report

Audis and BMWs are currently favoured as company cars and as such there drivers often spend a lot of time on the motorway, this combined with time related targets, huge milage, the boredom of the road and a powerful car can often lead to poor driving idiotic behaviour also seen in Vauxhall saloon drivers (cheaper company cars)
Its a generalisation but it's why they often seem to be more idiotic.
I drive an Audi (which is considered to make me an idiotic driver) and a Toyota Yaris (which is considered the complete opposite) I don't change my style of driving in either.
