To say Yorkshire puddings are pointless

There is no flavour to them, and take up space on the plate that could mean an extra roast potato

YABU simply for saying they have no flavour!
(As to having an extra roastie, YANBU Grin.)

Bananapickle · 27/01/2013 15:56

YABU - Yorkshire Puddings are yummy!!

saintmerryweather · 27/01/2013 15:56

yabvu! theyre delicious. i make big ones and pile a bit of everything into it.mmmmm

StickEmWithThePointyEnd · 27/01/2013 15:57

Oh I want some now.

notapizzaeater · 27/01/2013 15:57

Ooh no with lashings of gravy then cold later with jam or golden syrup ....

DeepRedBetty · 27/01/2013 15:57

Yorkshire puddings are the food of the gods. And there's a simple answer to space issue - get bigger plates Grin.

youfhearted · 27/01/2013 15:57

they are a good filler.
i am considering toad in the hole, same batter but definately better than plain sausages

StateofConfusion · 27/01/2013 15:57

Yabu.

Although for extra roasties... Nah, just pile it up.

grovel · 27/01/2013 15:57

YPs look good and add texture.

NoisesOff · 27/01/2013 15:58

YABVU. The Yorkshire pud is way superior to the potato.

Can I have yours please?

McNewPants2013 · 27/01/2013 15:59

I think I need a new recipe then :) I use a basic one cooked in the juices of the beef

YAB so utterly U there should be a whole new section just for this thread. Yorkshire puddings are delicious.

Petsinmypudenda · 27/01/2013 15:59
Shock What a vile thread title.

Yorkies are the best bit if a roadt

Pandemoniaa · 27/01/2013 16:00

You are clearly eating the Wrong Sort of Yorkshire Puddings.

Petsinmypudenda · 27/01/2013 16:00

Of a roast even

catgirl1976 · 27/01/2013 16:01
Shock

This may be the worst thing I have ever seen on MN

If someone served me a roast with out YPs I would literally cry with sorrow and confusion

And never speak to them again

fuzzpig · 27/01/2013 16:02

More for me then!

DH makes amazing gluten free ones (he's a coeliac)

...smothered in gravy, maybe a bit of cranberry sauce or something...

A recent favourite meal has been a homemade toad in the hole but with bacon instead of sausage (frog in the hole? Newt in the hole?!)

Hungry now. And I don't think we have enough eggs left to make yorkies tonight :(

So YABU on two counts - one for being totally and utterly WRONG, two for making me hungry! :o

McNewPants2013 · 27/01/2013 16:02

May have to dig out the hard hat, I don't see this thread ending well

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 27/01/2013 16:03

YABU They are amazing.

Sometimes I have them as a meal, just yorkshire puddings.

pixi2 · 27/01/2013 16:06

YABVVU. They are delicious and the first thing everyone goes for.

pud1 · 27/01/2013 16:07

quite possibly the most unreasonable thread I have ever read. they are the best bit. as for the extra roastie you just need to get a bigger plate. ffs some people make me sick

diddl · 27/01/2013 16:07

No flavour??

You´re making them wrong!

fuzzpig · 27/01/2013 16:08

I couldn't believe all the hooha at Xmas on here about the fact that yorkies are not a traditional part of Xmas dinner. Sod tradition I say!

At a pub last year I had a giant Yorkshire pudding wrap filled with roast pork and stuffing, with apple sauce for dipping.

Viviennemary · 27/01/2013 16:08

Well I really like them too. But I suppose when you think about it they are a bit tasteless.
