AIBU getting quite strange?

I mean, it's always been quite fighty. Now it's so angry, it's really quite a strange place to be.

Does anyone else think so?

MN is a strange place to be today in general.

MrsLouisTheroux · 21/01/2013 19:22

I don't like the cryptic threads. Weird, don't make sense ones where the same people seem to pile onto (including MN moderators) talking in the same way. Not sure what they are about. Grin Hmm

CaptainVonTrapp · 21/01/2013 19:22

You need to go on the cake thread. It'll help you to chill out and forget all those angry parking threads. Promise you'll feel much better after.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 21/01/2013 19:24

The cake thread is a keeper!

CruCru · 21/01/2013 19:25

Sounds good. I've just had a flick through some of the threads on here and they are so disproportionately angry it's given me a headache.

OP posts:
CruCru · 21/01/2013 19:25

Please link to the cake thread?

Link to cake thread please! I need a Grin

HeadfirstForHalos · 21/01/2013 19:42

You need to read this thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1664850-to-be-furious-with-dh-for-eating-cakes-he-knew-were-destined-for-the-bin

Then you can post knowingly and cryptically on this thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1665045-Cake-And-birds

CruCru · 21/01/2013 20:36

Oh for heaven's sake. This is what I mean by disproportionate.

OP posts:
DoItToJulia · 21/01/2013 21:10

YANBU. See, I told you!

CaptainVonTrapp · 21/01/2013 21:21

Disproportionate yes but angry no. Not of that agressive in-fighting and hate. Just one bizarre OP and a lot of laughs.

CruCru · 21/01/2013 21:27

Ah yes, I see what you mean.

OP posts:
HoneyDragon · 21/01/2013 21:28

Do you mean ones like

AIBU to park my car at the top of the driveway as its icy?

Fuck you op. Fuck your car. And fuck your counting driveway you fucker. [with no trace of tongue in cheek]

In terms of weird angriness?

HoneyDragon · 21/01/2013 21:29

Cunting driveway.

A counting driveway would be handy if you couldn't remember who many cars you had though.

TheVermiciousKnid · 21/01/2013 21:30

I've always wanted a counting driveway. It could count cars going past our house (not a lot) or maybe tractors (slightly more). Or maybe even snow flakes, if it's very good at counting.

I'm very sad that I don't have a counting driveway. :(

HoneyDragon · 21/01/2013 21:33

Now I want a counting driveway, Sad

Oooh and a singing doorstep

HearMyRoar · 21/01/2013 21:35

I don't even have a driveway...or a door step. :(

TheVermiciousKnid · 21/01/2013 21:37

How about a singing doorstep and a singing gate. They could sing a duet together while the counting driveway counts trolls.

WifeofPie · 21/01/2013 21:37

It's January and there is a lot of snow which, I think, is really hard for many people. Haven't y'all seen the shining?

SecretNutellaFix · 21/01/2013 21:38

How about a tap-dancing welcome mat?

That would be impressive.

LexiesGirl · 21/01/2013 21:39

Yeah, it seems to be a bit harsher than usual recently. I sometimes get the impression that there are posters who are having a bad day generally and are taking their frustrations out online, which is kind of ok but some poor OPs get an absolute flaming for no reason.

And the cryptic ones make me a Hmm. They can be a bit madly cliquey, especially if you look at posters names and see that it is regulars having an in-joke chat. But then you can just close the thread and not read it. Though I do worry (well, not 'worry', I mean I'm not up all night thinking about it) that newbies might get put off if they stumble across a few of those threads in quick succession.

Have I missed some corkers today then?

LexiesGirl · 21/01/2013 21:41

Oh, and a tap-dancing welcome mat would win my vote.

HoneyDragon · 21/01/2013 22:20

Heeeeeeere's Honey!

Ahem. You were saying?

honeydragon I just misread your post and had visions of a tap dancing singing doormat shouting "here's horny!"

I'm not sure what my drive could count. Seagulls maybe. Hmm
