yet....

I use a shopping trolley,

I adore my brand new slow cooker

I'm currently sitting on the sofa, feet up in peace and quiet with a large glass of sherry and a box of chocs

and I'm thinking up excuses not to go to a house party on New Years Eve...

I am aren't I?

You're not 23! 33 is not too young to do any of those things, can't really class oneself as a youth at 33!

digerd · 27/12/2012 17:18

My daughter still enjoys going out at weekends and she's in her 40s.
I'm 20 years older and don't anymore.

CharlieCoCo · 27/12/2012 17:20

Im 32 and have been waiting for shopping trolleys to come back into fashion for years now so i can get mine Grin

BabylonElf · 27/12/2012 17:20

YANBU!! I was 34 on Xmas day! At 10pm Xmas eve, I was drinking a CUP OF TEA FFS!!!

acsec · 27/12/2012 17:21

I am 29 - I love my shopping trolley and slow cooker! I've had them both for 3 years - you are definitely not BU! :)

Waitingforastartofall · 27/12/2012 17:21

I was also drinking tea, sewing and reading. i am 22. i dread to think what ill be like in ten years. Although i dont own a slow cooker, do i need one?!

mumofthemonsters808 · 27/12/2012 17:23

Oh I loved my 30's, really good positive years for me.Get your glad rags ready for the party you must go, I would love to go out New Years Eve but having had no sitter for the last ten years it's another boring one for us.

The only thing I suspect makes you old before your time is the shopping trolley.

cheekybaubles · 27/12/2012 17:25

Everyone needs a slow cooker.

FrazzleRock · 27/12/2012 17:25

Not youfful at 33!

But I got ID'd in Sainsburys and they weren't even joking

I'm 23 and can hardly wait to put my slow cooker to good use! I had a shopping trolley at 19, started being a granny before a mommy I did!

BlackAffronted · 27/12/2012 17:26

Im 32, a proud trolley owner who has sat reading a kindle all day rather than shopping in the sales! I have chinese ribs in my slow cooker right now Grin

FrazzleRock · 27/12/2012 17:27

Would anyone like a sherry? (You can't have my chocs though)

and yes, Waiting, you NEED a slow cooker.

Actually, I've not started using it yet but it's out of the box!

BigShinyBaubles · 27/12/2012 17:28

Im 37 and got a lovely new big slow cooker for christmas. Id rather have a cozy night in that a night on the piss.
Ilove putting my feet up wrapping mysrlf up in my snuggle blanket and watch Strictly!
YA SO NBU!!

jojane · 27/12/2012 17:28

The only reason I don't use a shopping trolley is because I still use a buggy

Waitingforastartofall · 27/12/2012 17:28

They have got some in the sales, im sorely tempted but dont know what i would do in it?
enlighten me someone or ill be forced to start a slow cooker thread.

Yay to being id'ed frazzle i always get id'ed but im about 4 foot tall and live in jeans and trainers usually.

FrazzleRock · 27/12/2012 17:33

This is it isn't it. It's the natural progression from a pushchair which I have now retired.
A friend of mine told me my shopping trolley is so old lady and I should use my P&T instead Sad

I think she's really jealous to be honest

TraineeBabyCatcher · 27/12/2012 17:34

I am 20 and would also sooner be at home for new years eve.
I can't remember the last time I drank alcohol, and I don't even know the name of any cocktails (does that make me old or a loser)
I

iwillsleepagainsomeday · 27/12/2012 17:37

Went to a pub last week and thought: oh it's great I no longer have to do things like going out to noisy pubs, shouting into people's ears, dress up as you never know you might meet mr right, go home late and be a wreck in the morning. I am soooooo happy to sit on the couch with tea and biscuits, my kids in bed and a nice film on the iplayer.

PS: I'am 35

sooperdooper · 27/12/2012 17:38

I'm 34, I'm sat here crocheting some mittens and I was chuffed to bits with my new sewing machine for Christmas, there is no hope, but I may have a wine in a sec

charlottehere · 27/12/2012 17:38

I'm 34 and 3 quarters I have a shopping trolly much to dh and dcs embaressment, I chucked my slow cooker but had one in mid twenties, does sherry trifle count? 'cos I've just had a big bowl, prefer wine tbh. I HATE new years eve and will be going to bed early until bastard fireworks wake me up Hmm

BTW I don't think 33 is young!

Daft question alert: by shopping trolleys do you mean those suitcase thingies on wheels that older people use for shopping?

If so, I decree that MN make it WELL trendy so that we can all use one without feeling that we are old. I missed the buggy terribly for chucking stuff in once DS no longer needed his.

Bring back the tartan trolley on wheels, I say!

BackforGood · 27/12/2012 17:43

Well, I can tick all those boxes, but I'm half your age again, and only recently morphed into being this way Grin

HoHoHokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 27/12/2012 17:43

I want a shopping trolley, I am 37.

Dm keeps telling me it would be the beginning of the end and a slippery slope though so I haven't got one!!

FrazzleRock · 27/12/2012 17:44

33's young surely!

No? Shock

My shopping trolley is from Ikea and it's black with big white polka dots.

It's trendy
