AIBU or is my Grandmother?

My Grandmother was over my house and I made us sandwiches. As I picked one up to eat it she looked at me and said "YOU CAN'T EAT A SANDWICH LIKE THAT PEOPLE WILL THINK YOU'RE STUPID" It's because (something I hadn't noticed before) I hold my sandwich with my thumb on top and my fingers underneath instead of the other way around. Was my Grandmother overreacting or will people think i'm stupid by the way I hold a sandwich?

I have no idea about your intelligence but I'd think you were double jointed! Am sitting here making weird gestures and trying to work out how on earth you hold your sarnie that way without all the insides falling out/your wrist hurting. I may even have to go and make a selection of sarnie to experiment with...

It's unusual. But actually I think you are probably the sensible one, as you have more fingers underneath to stop it from dropping or sagging. I doubt anyone will think you "stupid" for it.

My mum used to shout at me for holding my mug round the cup and not round the handle. She said it made me look common.

Kids often hold them like that. I think it looks like you are shovelling your food in, so not very 'polite' - so maybe more uncouth than stupid
