Ok is it just me that finds it completely irritating to see to see posters to include [sigh] in their posts.

It reminds me of a petulant child

YANBU

I hate too, it's just so bloody rude.

Especially when done to me Grin

WorraLiberty · 26/11/2012 11:18

I find [thrush] more irritating to be honest.

TroublesomeEx · 26/11/2012 11:18

Depends on the context, surely.

treas · 26/11/2012 11:20

I've only seem to see it when a poster is trying to indicate condescension

OP posts:
AlienRefluxLooksLikeSnow · 26/11/2012 11:21

[sigh] [shrug] [fucks off]

squeakytoy · 26/11/2012 11:23

HeathRobinson · 26/11/2012 11:24

LadyBeagle · 26/11/2012 11:24

[sigh]

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/11/2012 11:25

Meh.

It's ok.

I sigh al ot.

Maybe it's attention-seeking.

treas · 26/11/2012 11:25

BumpingFuglies - you forgot the [blows a raspberry]

OP posts:
treas · 26/11/2012 11:27

PelvicFloorClenchReminder - with a posting name like yours you may need to be doing a little less of that Grin

OP posts:
FeuDeSnowyRussie · 26/11/2012 11:33

I'm with you OP, [sigh] is usually being used condescendingly, and [shrugs] is used to be dismissive. But not always, it does depend on context.

Peetle · 26/11/2012 11:36

treas · 26/11/2012 11:38

Ok so when is MN going to have a [grumpycow] icon

OP posts:
MrsMushroom · 26/11/2012 11:43

It's not as annoying as cnuts* instead of cunts

Or "gavel" or "luff" or HTH!

badtasteflump · 26/11/2012 11:43

Not as annoying as Hmm though.

Although I love using it myself - it just makes me boil if anyone does it to me Blush

wigglesrock · 26/11/2012 11:43

I use [shrugs] a lot, usually to mean I don't really give a shite but would quite like to have an opinion.
