To think about standing in the Tesco car park...

...wearing a sandwich board saying:

PARENT AND CHILD SPACES ARE NOT FOR LARDY-ARSES WITH TEENAGERS.

I literally cannot get my baby out of the car if I don't have the extra space. Unlike Miss Thang going to the ATM who looks vacuous when I give her a filthy look for taking a space which is rightfully mine. Or the family with FULLY AMBULANT under-10s-but-over-3s.

Can you tell it was pissing it down when I went to do a top-up shop today?

You can't get your baby out of the car in a normal car space??? Really?? Blimey. I have never heard of this. Perhaps you need to rethink the width of your car if you are unable to use UK car spaces.

Do you drive a tank?

VirginiaDare · 06/11/2012 19:53

You shouldn't be driving around then. Or maybe you have some kind of monster 6ft baby?

MyCatHasStaff · 06/11/2012 19:53

"rightfully" yours? Did you pay for it? Hmm

Tweasels · 06/11/2012 19:53

Thank fuck. Mumsnet has got back to normal.

I always head for the non-P&C spaces at the furthest of far ends of car park. Which are always deserted. Hurray! (not because I like the walk but because the P&C spaces are always full).

Yet when I come back, there is ALWAYS someone parked right beside me - not on my side, oh no, on baby-seat side.

WHY lord, WHY???

xxDebstarxx · 06/11/2012 19:55

Park far away from the store and you will usually get a free space next to your car! Always think all shops should put their p&c spaces at the other end of the car park with an enclosed walkway to the shop.

Awwww...leave the OP alone. I love a good car park thread Grin

Tbh just because the OP 'should' be able to get her baby unless it is a 6ft monster out of her car in a normal space does not excuse lazy arses using the spaces when they could out of courtesy and general niceness to their fellow man/woman park elsewhere.

DawnOfTheDee · 06/11/2012 19:58

bumperella They're the same people who sit next to you on the bus even if there are free double seats elsewhere. You can run. You can try and hide. But they will find you and sit/park right next to you. Grin

NewNames · 06/11/2012 19:59

I really want to know what car you have.

RuleBritannia · 06/11/2012 20:00

It doesn't need even half a brain cell to think about parking in the middle of two normally sized car park spaces, does it?

Cortana · 06/11/2012 20:00

"which is rightfully mine" I think you're acting like a right entitled cunt.

I now imagine you carrying a giant baby in the way a small child who won a huge teddy at the fair would. Is this the case?

Elegantlywasted · 06/11/2012 20:00

How on earth will you get the sandwich board out of the car if you can't manage a small child?

nokidshere · 06/11/2012 20:00

who needs a baby? I parked in a deserted spot today, was in the shop for less than 5 minutes and when I came out a car had parked so close to me I couldn;t even open the bloody door - let alone get a child in and out of the seat - WHY????

maillotjaune · 06/11/2012 20:00

So these fully ambulant under 10s but over 3s...

DS3 will be 3 next week, am I to avoid using these spaces all the time or only when there are giant babies in a tank present?

Chandon · 06/11/2012 20:01

Eleanor wins

Cortana · 06/11/2012 20:02

"How on earth will you get the sandwich board out of the car if you can't manage a small child?"

Fuck me, that's both hilarious and logical nokidshere.
