To think about standing in the Tesco car park...

...wearing a sandwich board saying:

PARENT AND CHILD SPACES ARE NOT FOR LARDY-ARSES WITH TEENAGERS.

I literally cannot get my baby out of the car if I don't have the extra space. Unlike Miss Thang going to the ATM who looks vacuous when I give her a filthy look for taking a space which is rightfully mine. Or the family with FULLY AMBULANT under-10s-but-over-3s.

Can you tell it was pissing it down when I went to do a top-up shop today?

top tip #1 chill out, don't stress small shit like this, just park further away, you don't need a P&C space and you're never going to be more than 1min. walk away from the store where ever you park.

Having a sense of humour is an excellent personal quality.

I'm with you OP on this, but the most annoying thing I had was some stupid woman (yes she was a stupid woman) park on the yellow hashed box between the cars in the baby parking spaces, leaving no room for me (8 months pregnant) to fit between the two cars to put 3 under 3's in the car, and as I have a people carrier I only have one door into the back so I couldn't use the other side! She gave me right mouthful when I asked her to move, I did manage to squeeze down the gap but sadly something in my pocket might have been a bit sharp!

A lovely P&C parking thread to read while waiting for someone to call and service the Aga. Bliss.

shriekingnora · 07/11/2012 10:57

Brilliant! That has taken me back.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 07/11/2012 11:09

I wish I'd seen this in the night whilst feeding newborn. I could have done with a bit of light entertainment. Sad

I do have an elephant baby only 5 months and currently weighing in at over 20 lb. Carrying her car seat across the car park to the p and c spaces to get a trolly is no fun (a kind of drunken crab look) However probably does give the people watching a good laugh as they carry their heavy wallets back from the cash machine which is right next to the spaces.

I too wouldn't mind them being further away from the store if it meant I could park in them. After all being a parent does not normally make you disabled.

Obviously I could just shop on line and then post about stupid substitutions instead and never leave the house again.
