The DI site is down, I have not seen it go down once during the month I have been following it. The last I saw they were linking to this thread.

Alan Clark? I thought on the other thread it was another Clarke whose first name starts with K?

Is he still an ambassador? The news stories are quite old.

Can we refrain from naming actual live people otherwise this thread will go the way of the others. [hwink]

quite -that news story is from 2011, a year before Jimmy Saville's activities became public knowledge. Why are people complaining to the Beeb as if Clifford has just been appointed?

Report
NigellasGhost · 31/10/2012 21:58

probably because it has only just come to their knowledge!

Report
edam · 31/10/2012 22:18

But you can't complain that someone made a decision a year ago that looks dodgy today based on stuff that has happened in the meantime. Tell them they should change their minds now, fair enough, but some of the comments have been people rushing off to damn the Beeb as if they've just appointed him today, in today's context.

AFAIK Clifford's not been accused of any wrongdoing as such, it's just that an old clip of him talking about what the late Alan Clark MP got up to has been resurrected. I think all that stuff was in Alan Clark's diaries which were best-sellers - attitudes at that time were very different. Not entirely fair to hang Clifford for talking about someone who was quite open about his behaviour when clearly society in general, at the time, thought it was amusing rather than abhorrent.

Max Clifford has not been accused of any wrong doing

Sorry had to laugh at that, considering the video link above.

Surely the BBC should be examining every angle of this, including who they have employed and who could be very publicly seen as complicit in any form of child abuse or those willing to hide and cover up child abuse to protect others. MC appears to fall into the second group. He should be very publicly hanging them all out to dry.

He has done an incredible amount for charity but has also made it clear that when push comes to shove his PR buisness, which he himself admits is more about protection than publicity now, compromises any position he has taken on when working within a childrens charity.

This man has been in every news paper saying that the stars are running to him concerned because he can protect them from any impending accusations. Dont the Beeb read the papers?

The BBC should be making sure the public know that people with compromised agendas like MC are no longer or will no longer be part of the CIN team or the BBC fall stop without anyones foot up their arse pressuring them constantly.

Who cares when he was appointed, he has to go unless he hands over every bit of info he has.

As parents its our responsibility to make sure the history books are re written correctly. Alan Clark MP was a dirty old pervert so nothing he did was amusing, it was abhorrent. Who found it amusing anyway? Must of been all those perverted peers of his who seek to justify their own vile behaviour towards children.

Society in general didnt accept this behaviour it was just certain circles who unfortunately still feel above the law in 2012.

I believe, most people have just become aware of the appointment. With respect, I think you need to find out a bit more about MC, read a biography! He readily admits to bribing the police, the majority of his PR being keeping stuff out of the press, used to be FS's publicist and currently is defending Freddie even though FS is under investigation by the Met Police. His past clients include OJ Simpson, Mohamed Al Fayed, Kerry Katona,Simon Cowell
Shilpa Shetty, the five men who were suspected of the killing of Stephen Lawrence, Gillian McKeith and Shrien Dewani, the man accused of orchestrating the murder of his wife, Anni in S. Africa. When interviewed re. JS he trots out the same excuses ie. young girls throwing themselves at pop stars, refers to pop stars lifestyles being "hedonistic" (odd choice of vocab for rape of children). Says he can't bear hyprocrisy and yet only chooses to reveal stories about those that either arn't paying him or belong to the wrong politicial party, or that he can no longer defend because the story has got too big or is obviously true. He is already defending his famous friends but is quoted as saying that the women who have contacted him regarding abuse allegations, he knows are not telling the truth 50% of the time. Perhaps he is putting off those women that are coming to him with stories of his famous friends??? Now that would be a story! Why would anyone trust a man who admits to bribing the police and takes on such vile people as clients? Would you buy a car off this man? Hardly Honest John is he! Not exactly the kind of person you would choose to do the PR for Children in Need (although he does raise alot of money for charity just like Jimmy Savile did, perhaps it eases his conscience?)

Oh yes, and add rebekah brooks to the list of MC's clients/friends! In true MC style, he's been defending her ever since the scandal broke, even though she has yet to go to court. Funny how he goes quiet about defending these people when they are found guilty!

Whoever appointed him in relation to CON job should have been aware of that clip and that should have been enough to not wanting him associated. It's as though he was employed to cover up any scandal.

CIN, not CON, although it is looking tainted.

I think getting rid of CIN is a bit severe max not so much he has no morals and i dont care if he thinks he offsets his shady dealings with charity work doesn't make him a worthy person to be involved in CIN imo

Draft e mail to bbc and improvements gladly received.
Dear Sirs,
In light of Max Clifford's revelations that he did not report the underage sexual relations between a 14 year old and Alan Clarke MP
is he a fit and proper person to be associated with the children in need charity. I understand he is assisting with the PR.

I want to say I hope he won't use the opportunity to try and rehabilitate any of his clients but can't word it.
I am off out now so amend where necessary

Chris Evans ([email protected]) uses his Radio2 morning show to auction 'special prizes' on the week leading up to the Children in Need 'big night', he took over from Terry Wogan. This is a very high profile part of Children in Need.

The following email could be sent to Chris Evans:

Hi Chris and Team

Even though the mainstream media seems to be ignoring a lot of evidence or at least diluting it, or maybe concentrating on obvious targets, it appears that Max Clifford, the PR ambassador for Children in Need, has admitted or intimated that he has had for many years knowledge and/or evidence of many well known celebrities being involved in child molestation, paedophilia and sexual activity with underage teenagers.

He is currently withholding that information whilst, at the same time, promoting himself and the fact that he has this knowledge. I'm sure that most caring, open minded people would feel that Max Clifford should at least provide every shred of information to the Police, or maybe he should be prosecuted himself for 'protecting' these evil criminals, what do you think?

As someone who is directly involved with Children in Need, do you not think that the charity and associated shows (your's included) are, by the minute, becoming more and more tainted as more and more 'stars' are associated with the vile atrocities so obviously covered up by the BBC, and it is wrong that an individual who has covered up and even profited from such atrocities should be an 'ambassador' for such a high profile children's charity?
