Paul Roffey (child protection expert) said that pop stars used their position to manipulate young women to carry out acts which were as illegal then as they are now. Clifford also says he has also been contacted by women claiming 'all kinds of things', some of whom want to make money out of the abuse scandal. He actually says that he doubts that 50% of what they have told him is true! And Yet he believes his famous friends who come to him because they are worried about associations with JS and child abuse. He defends clients such as OJ Simpson, Mohamed Al Fayed, David Copperfield, Kerry Katona, Simon Cowell, Shilpa Shetty, the five men who were suspected of killing Stephen Lawrence, Gillian McKeith and Shrien Dewani, the man accused of orchestrating the murder of his wife, Anni in S Africa. I rest my case. MC is, in fact, the perfect, living embodiment of contemporary hypocrisy. God Help us!!

I think that's a dreadful mistake by the BBC, especially in the current climate. CiN is going to suffer enough because of the whole Savile scandal. Clifford's appointment is going to do nothing but damage it further in my opinion.

Clifford is a man who lives in a web of vile secrets. He uses these as and when he likes to either expose other people or to hide stuff about his clients.

Besidethecoast, was Clifford still representing Dobson and Norris when they were found guilty of Stephen Lawrence's murder I wonder?

I'm feeling fed up with not being able to DO anything about all this.
Except send an email to the BBC Trust, for example. Would my email make much difference?
What about if loads of us send an email, bombard them. They would HAVE to pay attention then.
Why aren't journalists doing something? or perhaps they are but it's all deep deep undercover!

I asked MC a difficult question once about Mandy Eight babies and he ripped the mic off his lapel and walked out. I think she was down to about 2 babies by then and he was 85 squilliion pounds better off.

Margery interesting link.

Its almost as though MC has decided that he is the one who decides which bits of info he deems important enough to throw into the public arena. The odd crumb is thrown into the mainstream to keep us plebs happyAngry

I always liked Max because of his charity work but didnt realise he had his own agenda of power and greed just like the rest of them.

I have spent 40 years walking around with my bloody eyes shutBlush

I've just read the article and he was put in his position last year for Children in Need 2011 appeal, so it's not a recent appointment.

I am just shocked david Icke has loons people using his forum Shock MC is probably just the talent booker for CIN need they all seem to be on his books anyway he is still sly and sneaky though ,

Christ, if BBC CIN needs to use Max C as their talent booker then they really ARE in trouble.

I'm shell-shocked the beeb would employ him on CIN in any capacity at all.

'Not sure I dare even start ... '

If you start, you won't be able to stop. It's riveting and I've only read some of it, there is so much. You won't hear it on the BBC or read it in Savile's biography.

Re: Max Clifford's link to charity - funny that, JS did quite a bit on that score too didn't he? Have sent an email to BBC Trust, thanks for the link!!
Re. his comments on "things being different in the 60s and 70s" Is he saying that young girls won't be throwing themselves at JLS now? Young girls have always followed pop stars, dreaming of a ridiculous chance of romance, none of them would want to be violated or raped! I remember the 70s (no sex education and no talk of paedophiles) but it was shameful to be at school and to be pregnant and it certainly WAS an offence to be middle aged and have sex with a girl under 16!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets not pretend it was ANYTHING different. A girl under 16 is classed as a child and a man in a position of responsibility is classed as an adult!! There is no GREY here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly, Besidethecoast.

Max can try and spin it all he wants, a Man having sex with a child is morally and legally wrong. Why were those Men having sex with anyone who looked anyway near a borderline age of consent anyways?

Report
Besidethecoast · 31/10/2012 16:02

Because they thought they could get away with it!!
